Therapy for Mommy

Most days I feel like I'm handling things pretty well, and thank God after a really rocky place, my marriage is back on the right track. But lately I feel the blues coming on now and again, and I;m falling into a pity party. I think I'm just very stressed.

So anyway, last night I went to a meditation group. I'm a massage therapist by profession, so I'm familiar with energy work, breathing and relaxation techniques, etc. but have never been to a guided meditation session. Let me tell you ... It was AMAZING. The guy who led it is a psychologist and certified hypnotherapist. I thought that we were meditating for at the most 20 minutes, it turned out it was 45! I had an emotional response at one point, just shedding quiet tears, but it was like releasing a huge weight. I feel like I confronted and worked through so many issues, and I took away a lot of great techniques. Oh and me, the total insomniac, slept for 7 hours straight last night. Unheard of!

I dont think we realize the amount of stress we are under. I'm definitely going to keep up with this. They meet twice a month. I should also start exercising more. What do you do to de-stress?

Re: Therapy for Mommy

I am having a really hard time myself. I try sooo hard everyday with Ava, it's really taking a toll on me.

I want to join the gym, but my Ped says not to bring Brody until he is 12 weeks, so - 4 more weeks... I hope it will help me.

Maybe just getting outside for a walk while its still not too cold? For me its just the effort of getting out there, but then I'm glad I did.
