VERY newly pregnant - need advice

Hi, I am a regular poster and just found out today that I am pregnant Chat Icon Chat Icon buChat Icon have a few questions about Dr. appointments.

So, I am 12dpo and i am going out of town on Saturday for 10 days. I have one DC - I took progesterone supp. wiith that pregnancy. Prior to that I had a miscarriage.

So I called the Dr.s office today (not who delivered DC - new OB I have been going to). I am going in for bloodwork on Friday - but will not be seeing the Dr. at that appt. The receptionist gave me an appt for Dec 22. I tried to explain the sitauation to the receptionist but she did not quite "get it".

My question is - given my history do you think when I go there on Friday I should push for an earlier appt? should I wait until after my bloodwork results?

Sorry so long - still in shock!!TIAChat Icon Chat Icon

I would call the office and ask them to have your OB call you back that way you can explain to him/her about the progesterone thing and he may jsut call in a prescription.......congratsChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Given the history, yes I'd want to move the appointment up. They can monitor your levels & give you suppositories if necessary.

Much sticky dust to you!Chat Icon Chat Icon

First, Congrats!! That is great news.

Secondly, I would either:
1 - Call them back and explain the situation to someone else if there is anyone else there

2 - Wait until the bloodwork and YES, push for an earlier appt.

Good luck and Congrats again!!!!

I don't know much about your situation, but i wanted to suggest calling back and asking for one of the nurses.

don't let a receptionist blow you off or dictate when you will get help.

Your OB should have a nurse, if not two on staff and there at all times...see if you can leave a message for her/him if you're not okay with asking for the doctor...

Re: VERY newly pregnant - need advice

I would definitely call back and ask to speak to someone qualified to assess your situation. I think that being on progesterone suppositories couldn't hurt-- so I would ask for a prescription immediately, so you can start using them. I know when I used them, I was told to start 2 to 4 DPO.

There has got to be a nurse you can speak to sooner, or the doc.

Congrats btw!
