Nursery School...EEEEeeeekkk!
Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on nursery schools in the Massapequa, Seaford, Wantagh, Bellmore area. I am having a terrible time even thinking about sending my son to school without me, even though I think it will be good for him, although to me it seems he is a little too young. I would like to stay on some kind of a budget with it. Some nursery schools are so expensive! Also, if anyone has any advice on how they feel about sending a 3 year old to school, or their experiences, I would love to hear! I am so confused! Thanks

Re: Nursery School...EEEEeeeekkk!
As a mom of four in Bellmore, with three sisters (& their kids!) in the area, I am personally familiar with quite a few programs.
If you are looking for a Christian program, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton has a great early childhood program. I know all the teachers, and they are very caring - good pupil to teacher/aid ratios, too. Additionally, the United Methodist church behind Applebees has a great program (I forgot the exact name!). My nieces went here, and we found the teacher and director enthusiastic and nurturing.
We are not Jewish, but my sister sent her daughter to the YJCC in Merrick. Their program was also great.
The Montessori school in Massapequa was great for one of my sisters; I did not care for it for my daughters, but instead prefer the South Shore Montessori school in Merrick.
Pixie in Wantagh was not good for my yr old niece who had minor separation issues, but I have friends who love them.
South Shore Day School on Newbridge just north of Jerusalem has a very caring and smart director. Of the non-religious private schools in the area, I prefer this one. Hope it helps!

Re: Nursery School...EEEEeeeekkk!
We live in Wantagh.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton - I've heard great things, but your child must be potty trained.
Maplewood - great school, very expensive.
Wee Friends - this is the one we use. Overall we like it, there are minor things that annoy me but they are mainly associated with my son's food allergy and the amount of food they bring into the classroom.
Pixie - Have heard nothing but good things.
The Lutheran school on Island Rd, Wantagh - my friend in Massapequa brings her 2 yo dd here. She really likes it, and it's very reasonably priced.
The school across from Applebees in Bellmore - my brother's friend sends his 4yo dd here. They love it, and I'm pretty sure it's reasonably priced.
Our Redeemer in Seaford - reasonably priced. Have heard great things, but it's a co-op and I couldn't help out in the class so we couldn't go there.
Grace in Massapequa - great school, very expensive.
