when did you officially stop with baby food?

i just find it so convenient for breakfast-some gerber oatmeal and a fruit- but ds is 14 months. Should i start cutting out the baby food?

As long as she's eating "regular" food as well, I don't see why giving her baby food in the morning is hurting anyone.

My DDs were off by 10 mos--a year. For me, it's more convenient to give pancakes or waffles, or eggs cut up in the morning though--that way they can feed themselves.

Ugh... DS will be 15 months on Sunday and I find myself reverting back to baby food a lot... because I know he will eat it. I don't see an end anytime in the near future!

Good question... I still give DS fruit and veggies as baby food. If I didnt do baby food veggies, he wouldnt eat them at all.

Ds is 20 months and I still give him baby food when he doesn't eat his regular meals.

ds had a ton of texture issues and would gag and choke on table food even tiny pieces, so we stuck with baby food. Either way he still gets baby food now and again.

we never did baby food. My girls went straight to table foods. By 10 months old they were eating 3 meals a day (with 2-3 snacks) of whatever we were eating.

DS is almost a year, but he still has problems with gagging (on table foods). He can eat a very small amount of sweet potatoes, eggs, potatoes, cheerios, and bananas in chunks, but that's about it.

So he still gets lots of baby food, because he just can't eat a lot of table food yet.

DS was 14 months.
He's now 22 months and Ive been tempted the past few months to give him baby food veggies (he was eating corn and sweet potato (table food) and then just stopped.
I will not go back though...the temptation has been there.

I'm still giving fruit in the morning with her cereal or the apple/cinnamon/oatmeal one. She loves it and lately, it's one of the only things she will eat!

i stopped using everything but pureed fruit and cereal at about 8-9 months. that was about the time that he started stealing table food from the other children at day care, so i assumed he was ready to move on

i still give him pureed fruit sometimes now, at almost 14 months.

I stopped about 9-10 months, but because DS just would not eat it anymore, he HAS to feed himself most of the time, so it has to be a finger food for him.

Now Puffs...thats another story, I htink he will be going to college with those, HA!

DS was 10 months old when we stopped baby food because he would grab the food off of our plate.

I still use the fruit purees w/regular adult oatmeal for Charlie. Heck, sometimes I mix one up for myself! why not??

Sometimes I also use the veggie purees to mix in mac & cheese or mix w/chicken...just to kinda hide some veggies in his food, kwim? I dont think its necessary to stop completely.

We are about 90% off baby food. I read somewhere that baby cereal is recommended until 2 years (could have been Gerber who says that ) But either way I still give cereal in the AM, and then if lunch doesnt include a veggie then I give him a baby food veggie.

I think you just have to do whatever works. For awhile DS would take stage 3 dinners for lucnh and then he decided he didnt want that...So i basically just follow his lead!

You arent doing anything harmful so I wouldnt worry!

at 9 months DD decided to protest baby food and she hasn't looked back!

DD was almost entirely on table food at 10 - 12 months BUT I would always keep it around for when we went out to eat and there was nothing for her (she's milk allergic). However now at 2 she eats it the fruits and veggies alot because she wants what her baby brother has. I have no issue with that, as long as she's not asking for a bottle!!!

She used to eat ALL veggies (table food) but now will ONLY eat baby food string beans or sweet potatoes. She's becoming very finicky with age

#1 was about 13-14 months..#2, she had gag/texture issues so at almost 17 months she still gets stage 3's or gerber graduates when she doesn't eat any "real" food.
