Yes if the fever is very high. You should call your doctor and they can better advise you.

I did two days ago because my babysitter called to say it was 100.4 and he's only 8 months old. By the time we got into the Ped it was 102.5.
I will tell you that they could not do anything for him. They told me that it's viral and going around. The kids will get a really high fever for 2-3 days and then break out into a rash. He had some spots on his belly so they think he got the rash earlier than most kids. They just told me to give him Tylenol or Motrin, can even alternate between the two every 3 hours and make sure that he's eating/drinking. They even suggested the Pedialyte pops, ice pops, cold juice and baths to keep his temp down. They said they would only be concerned if the temp does not go down with the meds and/or he doesn't have at least 3 wet diapers a day. He seems to be acting normal except for waking up in the middle of the night which he hasn't done in months.

I took DD twice this week b/c she had a fever of 104.1 one day and 103.7 the next. Ped wanted to see her. I would call and speak with the ped....he/she will advice if your DC should be seen.

Yup, the two times Emma has had a fever and no other symptoms, she's had an ear infection.

It depends on how high the fever is. If its under 102, then no, I do not bring them.

Depends on how high the fever is. Jack has been running a slight fever (don't actually take the temp - just by feeling him) but I haven't taken him - because he has cold symptoms. If he was tugging on his ear - or looked uncomfortable in any way then I would def. take him!

Depends on the temp. DS had a fever of 102, I did take him in and he had the start of an ear infection.

I was always told if the fever is above 101, but I would still call the ped if your concerned.

not if its a low grade fever. I usually wait it out because it could be teething or viral. If DD still has a fever after 36 hrs Ill usually call dr.
