The sweetest moment with your DC
With all the casey anthony talk, I thought it would be nice to share our sweetest moments with our DC's.
I had mine almost 15 months ago, and it still brings tears to my eyes thinking about it. After i had my c/s, I couldn't hold DD, as she was rushed to the NICU. So after a few hurs in recovery, I finally get to see her, I onlky saw her briefly after she was born.
So, they push my bed up next to her's and I say "hi baby, it's mommy." Well, i barely got the words out and Amelia was turing her head to my voice, trying to find me. Her poor eyes were so swollen, but she knew it was me. She knew exactly who I was. Even the nurse said, "wow, she knows her mommy." It was so sweet.
Please share yours.

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
Just last night....
DS was laying on top of me while I rocked him. he was totally awake with his face against my chest, legs wrapped around me in a hugging position. He was so content just letting me rock him, something he never lets me do.....
I had SOOOOO many other things to do last night, but I left it all just to sit and rock with him. DH asked if I wanted him to do it.....not for a million bucks!

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
There have been so many over the almost 3 years but the most recent is when, out of no where, DS said to me...
"Mommy, you're my best friend"

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
omg..i could go on forever.. #1 that comes to mind.. My 13 year old son writing on hhis myspace that I am his "hero"and how he still kisses me goodbye. My 12 year old who cries if I am sick or not feeling well, and how much she helps me The both of them how they love to live life "Paying it Forward"
My twins...how they are not "Jaded" they see the good in everything-they kiss each other and refer to each other as "my baby" instead of by name.
hmmm. last night..they watched a year without a santa claus and they were dancing dancing dancing. They alwaaaaaaaaaaaays dance and sing. Geez..I have millions..i cannot even write them all down.

There are so many...last night I fed my lil one and then she fell asleep in my arms..it is moments like these I cherish..everytime I look her..I can't believe she is mine...in the beginning of my pregnancy I almost miscarried and had to go on bed rest for a month...everyday I had to keep positive until I was out of the woods..I thank my lucky stars everyday that I have my dc...and cherish every moment with her.

The only night when I was rocking DS back to sleep at 3am (he's been sick) and he reached up and stroked the side of my face and then smiled at me.

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
OMG--cool
Most recently we went to St John for 5 days. I havent been away with DS for that long since maternity leave.
We were on a boat from St Thomas to St John and the water was rough! I think DS was scared since he held me tight chest to chest and before I knew it he was sleeping on me!
This hasnt happened with my rambunctious boy in ages so I was so happy when it did!! I need more boat rides! Image Attachment(s):

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
my sweetest moments are every morning...when DD wakes up and i yell out that mama's coming and she screeches and as soon as she sees me she goes nuts and when i pick her up she grabs onto me so tightly and puts her lips against my cheek while holding my face and smiles...how can you have a bad day after a greeting like that!!!

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
DH had put DD to sleep the night before b/c I was going to a Zumba class (which never happens-I put her to bed 99.9% of the time) The next morning she woke up and I went to get her out of bed-she grabbed my face and planted a big kiss on my lips. It absolutely melted my heart

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
There are so many but the most recent is one I just posted one the other day but I will post it again. DD loves to watch DH and I kiss. she thinks it is hysterical. So, DD was sitting on my lap facing me and DH was next to me. We would kiss and then look at her to watch her smile and laugh. After a bunch of times, all of a sudden, DD leans in and kisses me on the lips. It was so sweet She's only 9 months and has never kissed me before. Oh, how I love this girl.

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
When DS says " I love you mommy"
THAT is the sweetest moment in any parent's life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When DD looks up from her crib the minute I walk into her room when she wakes up in the morning. I see her eye's over the crib and then this huge smile! That is what starts my day..
Everything my kids do melt my heart. There are so many special moments that I share with both of them
ETA: DS has been doing this for a while but it still gets me choked up.... Me: who is mommy's best friend DS: me mommy Me: for how long DS: FOREVER Mommy

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
I have sweet moments all the time, but the one I can remember most recently was my first day back to work last Monday. I had to leave him at my MIL's house all day. When I came home to pick him up, I walked in the door, and said, "Hi sweetie, did you miss Mommy?" He looked straight at me, and smiled a big toothless smile. Made my heart melt that he recognized me and did miss me.

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
DD has been in total Daddy mode lately and very much NOT into Mommy. But Daddy is away for the week for work so last night while I was rocking her before bed(our little ritual), she reached up and stroked my face and said, I love you. It made this pregnant lady

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
Awww...I love all of these moments you all posted!
My current sweetest moment...
A month ago I was picking DS up from daycare and putting his jacket on. Zipped him up and picked him up and was thrown off guard by the biggest hug and hearing him say "Mammmaaaaa!" then he sort of looked back at my face with a smile and hugged me again. Now he does it every time I pick him up.

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
The hands down sweetest moment has to be when my youngest was about 14 months old, she said"love you" to her older sister and hugged her. Mommy and daddy had tears in our eyes.

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
I love it anytime he falls asleep on my chest.
Now that he is in daycare, when I pick him up, he will often put his face right up against mine - forehead to forehead, nose to nose - and give me a big grin. It is the cutest thing and makes me realize how much we miss each other all day.

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
Ah, there's so many but the times I love/cherish the most is when we're in the car singing together her favorite songs or when she's "helping" me with baking, shopping, etc. The morning she woke up and told me she needed a job to go help buy toys for poor children is definitely up there. Or when she says her prayers at night and says a special one for Grandma Lahey (passed) or my Dad because he's sick.

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
This is a great thread! You can feel the love we all have for our kids when you read through everyone's posts.
My DS does not say any words yet... recently I was looking right into his face while he was in his highchair and saying "Mama" over and over. He leaned in, and whispered, "Bob Bob Bob Bob ...." That was my dad's name.... and DS looks just like him. I asked him if he was talking to his angel. What a moment!

So many....The most recent would be as I was rocking DD to sleep, and she put her arms around me and say "Mama, Mama" as she patted my arms...then she looked up at me and smiled.

#1 First time holding DS after he was in Isolette for a week in NICU.
#2 Just recently, I always hold him on my hip running around doing things. I was looking down at something, so my hair was covering the side of my face. H ebrushed the hair away from my face, and pulled my chin to look at him, and gave me a HUGE smile....it was just so gentle and sweet..he melted me!

Re: The sweetest moment with your DC
My 2 year old DS always runs and gives me a huge hug as soon as he wakres up. It warms my heart
Ryan laughs at EVERYTHING I do. All I have to do is look at him and he's cracking up.
Mel is a Daddy's girl, so she's so not into me anymore But I love seeing how annoyed she gets when I pick her up from school and not DH
And the way my 5 year old waves to me from this bus so excitedly makes me
