I think Gavin had a night terror......is it?
He was sleeping almost 2 hours when we heard him screaming bloody murder.... DH ran upstairs and almost broke his leg jumping over the dog..... He found Gavin sleeping in his crib, coolie in the air as usual, screaming! He picked him up and Gavin rested his head on DH's shoulder and slept peacefully........I don't think he ever woke up. Is this what's called a night terror? What is it exactly?
I thought DH was gonna have a heart attack.....he almost started to cry...

My son is 15 months and he gets those alot. As soon as you pick him up he falls right back to sleep. Comfort of Mom or Dad

And that's weird because anything I was able to read up on them said not to disturb them.... Tell me how to NOT pick up my screaming little boy and comfort him??????

I just posted Ryan is napping doing this and I'm not sure what to do. He's gotten something like you describe at night and if I do go in and lift him from his crib it scares the crap out of him and it's hard to comfort him.

DD has been getting these too - when she naps during the day - she starts to cry out in her sleep and and I pick her up and it takes a long time to console her.
she is 9 months - is this a stage?

My DD did this the other night (she is 9 months). It took a little while to calm her and get her back to sleep.
