Scary night terror/nightmare experience with DD

I know I have been posting about bad sleep recently and last night was no better.

Last night it took Sabrina almost an hour to fall asleep (we don't CIO) and then two hours later she woke up and sat up crying. DH went in to see what was wronging and she was carrying on and on. He took her out and tried to sit with her in the glider but she jumped down. She was absolutely inconsolable. She kept waving and saying bye bye. I tried to pick her up and she pushed me away. Same for DH. She was pointing out in the hallway and pointing and waving. I thought she said milk so I got her a sippy with milk and DH brought her into our bed and I came in and laid down next to her and tried to give her the sippy.

Well, you would think I gave her poison. She knocked the sippy out of my hand and started screaming and crying even harder than before and pointing at my boob. She had already nursed SO much that night that I was pretty much dry. I had nothing to offer but a sad deflated boob.

DH took her downstairs and somewhere on the way down the stairs she snapped out of the zone and recognized a picture of her on the wall. We were able to give her a sippy of juice and calm her down but she didn't want me to leave her sight. We all layed down together in bed again and she tugged at my shirt and wanted to get whatever milk she could until she fell asleep. By then we were both wiped and didn't even bother to put her in her crib.

I am SO lost. This sleep deprivation is taking a toll on me. I am getting to work late (thank God for a flexible environment), I am scrambling to do homework and DH and I haven't had sex in what feels like agesChat Icon Chat Icon

And the real kicker is that every time my parents give us a break and let her sleep there, she sleeps fine even though I usually bathe her, read to her and nurse her there and then go home. No change to her routine so why the change in sleep?

Sorry for such a long vent. AF is here today and I just feel rottenChat Icon Chat Icon

HUGS! NT's are sooo bad to go through! Especially when they are happening! My son gets then bad. He does not remember anything afterwards (he is 4.5 had them since a baby) My ped's daughter gets them, and told me it is so common. My best advice that works the best for DS is a strict schedule. Nap, sleep, etc. Even though she can be fine at you parents, it could actually throw her off the next day.

Chat Icon Chat Icon I think you have to night wean her. It made a HUGE difference for us. All of a sudden, he had nothing to wake in the middle of the night for.

It was a long 2 week process, but once it was done, it was nice.Chat Icon

We are going away this weekend and she is staying with my parents. I am planning on bringing my pump but I am kind of hoping that after all Saturday and half of Sunday without me she might wean herself.

Also, for any BFing mommies, do you ever notice a change in supply during AF? Or a change in DC's personality? I feel like once a month my supply dips and DD is really crazy. I have tried giving her more milk in a sippy then but she still behaves strangely.

I never thought I would wish time to hurry up and pass but I really wish we could "outgrow" this stage like everyone says. I will end up institutionalized if we keep going like this.

Feel better Jules! I'm sure the weekend at your moms will do everyone a world of good.

You know I don't have advice, but lots of Chat Icon and a promise of a belated bday lunch when you return.

Heck, drop her off here anytime! She can play with Connor!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
