Alumni Career Services
I know I have mentioned this on a few posts, but Newsday just did an article about alumni career services at local colleges. With the economy the way it is, I strongly recommend becoming familiar with what your college offers in terms of help with resumes/interviewing or special networking events. Even if you did not attend one of the local schools in the article, you may have access to alumni job postings or virtual networking opportunities through alumni networking.
Here is the link to the article:

Re: Alumni Career Services
this is a great post - I kinda dismissed any career service center because the one where I went was a little lacking, but lo and behold, I'm now working in academia at a career center (doing non-career type work still) and am so impressed with the services offered to alumni. It is definitely a MAJOR resource for networking and job postings for anyone who needs a job

Re: Alumni Career Services
Wow.. this post prompted me to look up my alumi services for my college (in a different state)... in order to take advantage of their career stuff, you gave to join the alumni association.. $50!! Without even knowing if they have anything that's worth your while! Forget that.
They also have a section in their career services called "What kind of job can I gwt with this major?" My major isn't even listed! Useless degree indeed!!!

Re: Alumni Career Services
I've worked at a University and Law School....their Career Centers are very active with alumns. I was actually suprised---I would never think of going back to my school for my job search---but it's a great resource.
