He was and now he isn't. Chat Icon Chat Icon (DS will be 4 months next Sunday). Naps he takes whenever he looks like he is getting sleepy. Usually 2-3 for anywhere between 1 hour to 3 hours.

Re: does your 4 month old sleep...

Yes, he has been sleeping 12 hours since 11 weeks (he is 14 weeks now). However I have been reading about sleep regression that can happen around 4 months which I really hope doesn't happen here Chat Icon His naps are all over the place. The general rule is that he goes down after 1 1/2 hours of being up- he will sleep anywhere from 30 min to 3 + hours. I never know which it's going to be Chat Icon

Re: does your 4 month old sleep...

yes he does, and naps very well at home. he also naps well in the car, but he cannot sleep for longer than 20 minutes if he is not swaddled or in a moving car.

he usually sleeps from 7:30pm to 6am but his bedtime varies. after he wakes up at 6am to eat he goes back down from 6:30 to 8:30am. he also takes two more 2-hour-long naps during the day.

Re: does your 4 month old sleep...

Sleeping through the night is defined by a single 5 hour stretch. DS does that. Unfortunately, it is generally from 8pm - 2 or 3 Chat Icon . He will then eat then go back to sleep immediately and sleep until around 6 or so.
Also, I am nursing so that may make a difference.

Re: does your 4 month old sleep...

He sleeps all night from around 9 or 10 until 8 or 9 in the morning. He takes maybe 2 little catnaps during the day unless we go out and he sometimes gets a good sleep while we are on the go.

Re: does your 4 month old sleep...

Mine does. I can hardly believe it as she was swaddled up until about 2 weeks ago. We quit cold turkey and I thought it would be MUCH harder on us. From time to time she wakes up and whines, but she is an excellent self-soother and always goes back on her own.

Abby goes to bed between 8 and 9 on most nights. She gets up at 5 am on day care days/vacations and goes a little later on the weekends.

She naps 3-4 times and they can last anywhere from a half hour to 2 hours (though that is rare.)

Re: does your 4 month old sleep...

my 5 month old goes 8 hrs. He takes a couple of naps during the day (not long ones but it's better than nothing I guess). I feed him and he sleeps from like 9 or 10pm to 5 or 6 am. He's been like that from pretty ealry on. I wish I could strech him another hrs or 2. But I better not jinx myself.

Re: does your 4 month old sleep...

Nope she does not sleep the night through

She goes to bed around 10-11
Wakes up at 3am
Goes back to bed around 330-4am
Wakes up at 6-7 (or we wake her up at 6am)

*shrug* I dont mind. She gives us one off days here and there where she sleeps the night through. Mostly no though. What can I tell ya? I sorta of expected no sleep through nights until 6months or so.

Kudos to those who's kids do, but mine doesn't.

Her naps are half hour usually one to one and a half hours after she eats (food or formula).

Occassionally she's sleep a full 3hours. But I never let her sleep more than that during the day.

Re: does your 4 month old sleep...

he sleeps until about 7ish (I think he hears Daddy get up). But if I stick the binky back in, I can get another hour or so.
