All are great school districts. I highly recommend Babylon only because thats where I went to school but the others are similar. Babylon is the smallest school of the 3. My BF teaches at WB and the students are good there as well. DW graduated WI and would go back there too..

We live in WI, and went there, and our kids will go there. Another district we were looking in is babylon. Nice town and district. I don't know much about WB.

I graduated Wi and my DH graduated WB.

We are currently living in WB.

My kids aren't in school yet, but I have no worries or concerns when the time comes around.

Babylon is a smaller district (jR and hs are in the same building).

West Babylon is a bit more diverse than WI.

I live in WB and have kids in 3 of the schools. They are great, they get a lot of extracurricular activities. The town library is great as well.

Babylon also has nice schools, as does WI. But as PP said, WB is the most diverse and offers, I feel, more intramural activities (outside school system) than the other 2 do.

Feel free to ask away!

You really can't go wrong with any of the school districts you mentioned. I graduated from WB.

As a teacher, I have only heard about the West Islip schools and only heard great things. i do know the taxes are high there. DH and I looked at West Babylon and Babylon when we firststarted house hunting... i just wasn't crazy about the houses we saw there or south shore suffolk in general..... although i did like Bablyon Village. i don't know how the SD's work though...

I live in merrick now so I can't imagine the taxes could be much worse.

I just want to be closer to my family who live in patchogue, Lake grove, deer park, etc.

Do each of teh school districts have good sports programs? This is important for DH and I b/c we were involved in sports in school and would like our children to be (of course if that is what their interested in).

I would say all 3 are equally good with sports.

West Islip is known for Football/Lax

West Babylon is known for Football and I think girl's softball

Babylon is usually good in football too.

(I don't follow too many other HS sports but football)

One of the very big reasons that we only wanted West Islip was because of the sports program...they have a FABULOUS boys lax program...they start very young and build a great sense of "team" from the very start. They also have a pretty good football team.

I student taught in Babylon and absolutely love it. They are a wonderful school district, and they have a good sports program (a lot of the 2nd graders in the class I student taught in were in a pee wee football league). It is a small school district, but there is a sense of community.

I haven't heard anything bad about W.I. or W.B. I have cousins that graduated from both districts.

I heard that babylon carts in kids from other areas to beef up their sports programs, which bothers the he11 out of me. i hope it's not true.

My DH is a teacher in a WB school. From what I've heard from him, it is a great school, with great teachers and a good admin system.

He is always saying how Babylon is a bad school with delinquent kids but I have no proof of that!
