does anyone else DESPISE the treadmill ??
I HATE it ...unfortunately it is my only option right now because I have 3 small children all day and its raining etc DH doesnt get home until dark and even the morning is too rough to get outside and run because my 2 yr old has been up at 5am
I am not sure why I hate the treadmill so much....maybe because its 10 years old and its LOUD and ugly and the panel doesnt light up and tell me any info so I have no idea what time I am jogging or how long or how far anyway I just cant even force myself to go on it but I am gonna try to go on today

One of the best ways, I find, to get through a treadmill workout is to change it up every minute. You could put some kind of clock near it and change the speed and/or the incline each minute to make it less boring.
For example... i start out at 3.0 speed and 0.0 incline and each minute for the first 20 minutes I'll increase one or the other until I get to 3.6 and 10.0. The next 20 minutes I'll change those up a bit and also spend every other minute pumping my arms in the air to burn more calories. This makes it all fly by ALOT faster.

Couldn't agree more. I start at 6.0 for the first minute and then down to 5.0 for the second, etc.

I hate the treadmill as well, but I have mine in front of a tv in our exercise room and I either watch my wedding video (because I am obsessed with watching it for some reason) or I just got The Hills on DVD (all seasons) so I watch that as well. I find if I keep myself occupied watching something I love, before I know it I was walking or running on there for 40 minutes without even thinking about it. Maybe that will help for you as well.

I find this so cute! I was married in 2004 and have never watched our video. Not only that, if I had my way we wouldn't even have a video. I just don't like to watch myself.

We have our treadmill in front of the tv too ! I joined Netflix so now I rent dvd's and watch about 45 minutes of a movie a night. Wanting to see what happens next usually gets me to WANT to go on the treadmill

It doesn't compare to running outside. I find it hard to stay on it, but I push myself as much as I can and I also think its because its in your house that might also be a turn off.

Re: does anyone else DESPISE the treadmill ??
I agree with changing up the speed and incline. and watch something on tv to keep distracted from watching the clock.
I also HATE the treadmill. I MUCH prefer the eliptical. I feel like my whole body gets into it and not as much pressure on my knees/legs in the jogging/walking on the treadmill (and I realized that I burn TWICE as much on the eliptical!) and I dont go slow, do a decent resistance and speed on both.
so no more treadmill for me.
I power-walked outside with m neighbor yesterday at 6am we have very hilly roads, youch on my shins/calves! felt awesome! so try that also to change up your routine !

I hate the treadmill b/c I start to feel dizzy on it after a sort while & my legs feel like jello after getting off. I prefer the elliptical.
