Is this important to you?
I am not a vegetarian or vegan, but the concepts are appealling to me more and more. How do you make the transition? I work for a vitamin company and HAD NO IDEA that meat products were used in supplements. How can you possibly assume to check for meat products in everything? How do you do it?

Re: Is this important to you?
I'm very cautious with any kind of vitamin or supplement I take. i'll usually try to go to a vegetarian web site for reccomendations or ask people at the store where I'm shopping. The transition wasn't hard.. been a veggie for about 4 years or so now. If I ever got the craving for meat, I'd make it a point to remember why I was giving up meat in the first place (which is personal and different for everyone). DH went veggie with me, so that also made it easier.
hardest part sometimes is going out to eat (i'm always concerned if its a restaurant i've never been to) or if someone has a party or bbq and doesn't have anything for me to eat. but you make it work and it gets easier as you get into the swing of it

I would be VERY upset if it was not on the lable. I do not know if this is the case with your company, but it should be there.

I am a vegan, so I can pick out an animal product in an ingredient in record time!

Well, lets say you buy a supplement that comes in a softgel. That is made of gelatin and is listed under ingredients. Gelatin is made from either bovine or porcine sources.
I never knew that. Lots of people don't.
Cheese is made using animal rennet. How would you even know to think about these things, KWIM?
