I would just stroll down Restaurant Row and look at the various menus. I have eaten at a couple Irish pubs in the area that were yummy.

Re: Theater District Restaurant suggestions..
Well, i'm a big fan of Carmine's on 44th and Broadway. Italian family style - food always good and ginormous portions.
9th avenue has a lot of cute little places, i've eaten in many over the years. You really can't go wrong on restaurant row (46th between 7th and 8th) or on 9th ave between 42nd and 50th. There are tons of little places you can walk around to - most of them have good pricing.

Re: Theater District Restaurant suggestions..
We just went to Mont Blanc last week.
It is a swiss/austrian/italian restuarant (i.e. The Alps area)
They had Escargot, Fondue, Steaks, Pastas, Veal, Bratwursts, chicken, Fish .
It was a great little cosy restasurant
