Eh, don't care either way. I will be working w/ out access to TV or anything. I am more interested in what he will do as president vs what michelle obama will be wearing tomorrow.

Work is providing TVs for those interested in viewing it.
I'm excited. A new president. A new president. A new president. It's been a long 8 years. I do think Obama will make some great changes & look forward to seeing what he does accomplish during his term. I'm excited for the historical significance as well.
This economy alone would be an enormous challenge to any incoming president. Given the economy, there is no way he can end the war in Iraq any time soon unless he plans on deploying them elsewhere. Simple math will tell you having those troops come home will further devastate unemployment, which is already taxed.
With all of that, I think I'd even be excited if Amy Winehouse was taking the job. Go Bush! GO!!!!!

not really... to be honest, i am a bit sick of all the Obama overload. while i appreciate the historic impact of his inaugeration...that is huge, i am sick of the media and everyone else making him out to be some God ro soemthing. he hasn't done anything yet!!!!! i wish him well and will definitely watch, but i am more interested in what happens when he's actually in office; I do hope people stop treating him like some infallible God.
I kind of feel the same way.  I have no desire to watch, but that's ok since I'll be at work anyway for the day!

This day is looooooong overdue. I just wish my DD was old enough to appreciate it. I'm not sure she'll understand the significance, she's only 5 weeks old

I Third the above statement!!! I am interested to see what he actually does in office, however I think with the economy the way it is there was a better way to spend 154 million of tax payers money than on celebrations!!! Not a great first move.

I am on the phones today answering the 1800 number for Social Security and so many people are wishing me a Happy Inauguration Day - its nice to see people happy and excited for a change instead of just yelling at me LOL
The funny thing is the only reason I am stuck on the phone ALL day is bc there is no one here - everyone took off to watch it!

In fact, I'm going out of my way to AVOID seeing all the hype today...it's way over done.
I'll keep the Tivo on and watch pre-recorded stuff.

I agree. I am very excited that we actually have someone coming that cares about our country. I know it isn't an overnight fix but I have the faith that Obama can lead the country in the right direction instead of wrong. Hopefully from here on in everyone can start being positive and focus more.

ITA with both of you.
My job has TVs set up for people who want to watch. I might catch a glimpse if I get lunch at the cafeteria today... but honestly, even if I wanted to watch it, I'm far too busy at work today to step away for 30 minutes to an hour to watch.
ETA -- I'm sure I'll watch a replay of his inaugural address (or at least read the transcript) later today, though.

i think it is exciting - i would probably watch if I wasn't already overloaded with Obama inauguration media coverage. It was too much too early, now I feel sort of blah from it. I am excited for every new president - whether I voted for him or not. It is a new beginning each time someone takes office.
