I used dr. subrahmani in west islip for my colonoscopy-not sure if he does other surgeries, but he's really good so i figured i'd through it out there. GL and HTH

i have heard great things about him. my doc recommended him when i lived in nassau, but since moving to suffolk, i wanted someone closer.

Dr. Michael (Mickey) Harris at Mt. Sinai. He did my intestinal resection and I trust him completely. I was scared out of my mind and he spoke to me on the phone many times to reassure me. His staff was excellent and supportive too. He is also "King" at the hospital and the whole place treats him and his patients very well.
I interviewed 3 surgeons before picking him.
Please FM me if you need more info.

eta: I'm also seeing Dr. Garbus for another reason next week and he works in the same practice as Dr. Pappas. Both of these doctors were highly recommended by my gastro and my GP.
Dr. Harris was a specialist in what I needed and I felt better going to him for my surgery.

my grandmother has colon cancer which they found in August but she has been to sick with CDIF and other infections to have surgery ....she has a Surgeon at Brookhaven hospital...Dr Nath (sp?) well when they were probing they found the tumor I guess pressing onto the bladder and he wont do the surgery and sent her to Mt Sinai in the city but that surgeon hurt her so bad she is afraid to go back there and also she doesnt wantto travel that far (and my mom and aunt wont drive in the city) so they had their brother drive them last week but they are the ones who need to be with her so she wants someone local.....she is in Patchogue so anywhere on the islland is good

who was the surgeon at Mt Sinai?
I'm so very sorry she is sick. Poor thing.
I do hear that Dr. Pappas and the doctors in the practice are excellent. Maybe Nassau is not too far to travel?
I think they do surgery at Winthrop or North Shore.
