really aggravating comment I got the other day......
So I went out the other night, a bunch of my former co-workers were there (not the company that just laid me off, the company before that, I actually like these people lol). Anyway, so only the people that were in my department knew that I had a miscarriage, this idiotic guy who I would have figured would have thought before speaking, said to me "so what did you do, what made you have a miscarriage???".....I couldn't even answer him I was stunned he would say such a thing, he totally made it sound like it's something I did that caused me to miscarry!!!! I was so angry and sad at the same time to be asked such a question, luckily it was in a loud bar, so I just turned away and pretended not to hear him. Oh and by the way at the end of the night, he rubbed my belly and said you and Mike have to get pregnant again soon.....I said you put your hand on my belly again I'm going to punch you in the face!!! Some people really need a class in manners!!!

I know! this guy has two kids, I'm shocked he didn't have more sensitivity. he totally made me feel like I had to defend myself, like what was I going to say, I didn't do anything wrong??? There's no reason I should have to explain myself, so frustrating that there are people out there who don't understand anything about miscarriages.

What an awful comment. People are such losers. After my 1st mc, my neighbor said, "Well, you don't really have room for a baby at your house anyway."

after I first started talking to him I said "we'll try again when we're ready" and he said "don't you want kids???" I was so done with our conversation after that!! I was drinking and trying to have some fun and relax for once, so I was ignoring him, but all the hurtful comments settled in yesterday when I was thinking about Thursday night. I might have to punch him next time I see him! lol

OMG!!!! who the F asked them?!!!???? that is so incredibly rude! thank god we can be the bigger people and not go off when we have to hear such blatant ignorance!! About 3 days after my D&C my neighbor (who's really nosy, and we didn't tell them about it for that exact reason) said "hey Helen I had a dream you were pregnant, maybe it will come true soon" IDIOT! I almost wish I had the heart to tell him what happened so he would have felt like a moron. Instead I just came back in the house and cried. notice these comments seem to be mostly from men??

Wow. That is so hurtful! I honestly think men just do not "get it" when it comes to this stuff. I think that DH's of those of us who have gone through this can understand a bit more, but other than that, I just think they do not understand the emotional side of it all.

you are definitely right! the only guy who's been able to understand is my husband's older brother....who unfortunately went through a m/c 7 months ago. But at least he was able to talk to DH to tell him what his wife went through and what to expect from my range of emotions. I think he really appreciated having another guy to talk to about this, b/c so much of the focus (understandably) is on the woman and her feelings, I'm glad he's had an outlet too. I wish more men could understand miscarriages though!!!

Helen that is so awful. What an insensitive comment. Some people seriously need to think before they speak. Clearly he had no idea what he was talking about but I'm so sorry that you had to hear it.

1. doesn't have kids
2. has never tried to have kids
3. never experienced a MC
4. never came into contact with someone who has had a mc
