File cabinets..

Right now we have some flexspace behind our dining room (separated by french doors) that we use as an office...we have two file cabinets, both metal, different colors, but one is beyond repair...my thought was to get a piece of furniture that is a file cabinet..it would be functional and attractive...thoughts?? Does anyone have this? I saw some on home decorators collection and wanted to see if anyone had feedback...TIA

If you have never ordered form home decorators, I suggest that you don't. Target had a nice 2 draw wood file cabinet on sale a few weeks ago. They seemed really nice.

Can you elaborate on your home decorators experience? The broken metal cabinet is from Target...don't know if this other one is of better quality...thanks...

i have ordered several area rugs from HD and was very pleased with the quality. i have been meaning to purchase and want to purchase this file cabinet. curious to know why to avoid.

I ordered a beautiful glass door bookcase, that I couldn't wait to get. The first one didn't even make it to me before Fedex sent it back to then as damaged. The second one they wanted me to pay for again, until they recevied the damaged one back. I refused. the second one I got had broken pieces and no glass doors. Turned out to same collection, but wrong piece. Instructions on putting together were not possible. Everything was labeled wrong!!! Read review on them...Seems to me more bad then good!!

I don't know if crate and barrel or pottery barn has them, but both have nice quality wood furniture..

we have a super-modern decor, and bought our (metal) file cabinets from cb2.com (the modern off-shoot of crate and barrel). very nice quality!

We've ordered from Home Decorators and have never had a problem. No company is ever going to be 100%, but I've never had a problem.

We just bought a really nice filing cabinet from Furnikit. It's a lateral wood cabinet and I think it was about $225. Plus Furnakit has been having $25 coupons in the Sunday paper.

I ordered the file cabinet from Home Decorators that looked like antique suitcases stacked together.......it was a piece of junk and hazardous!!! Every time I opened one of the top two drawers (it was a 4 drawer cabinet) it would tip forward and almost fall over!

I just bought this 3 drawer file cabinet from Home Decorators Outlet. $49.99. I have a console table from them also. Haven't had a problem with them yet. The instuctions for the console table were easy and DH & I put it together in about an hour.

I had a really bad experience with them as well........I insanely ordered this set online b/c it was exactly what I wanted...The table arrived damaged and all the chairs wobbled. I will say CS was very helpful, offered to take $$ off if I decided to keep if and even send replacement chairs....it was just a poorly made product so they gave me a refund...... Not sure if it's good or bad but they deal w/many diff. manufacturers which I think is why some people are happy and some aren't.....
