Just need to vent!

I haven't posted on this board before but I have been lurking and you ladies are so supportive of one another!

I needed to vent about a little worry I have.

My DH and I are waiting a couple more years to start TTC. I'm 26 now and even though that's young I feel like we're going to have a hard time conceiving. It scares me to get older and start trying a couple years down the road. What if I have a hard time becoming pregnant? I know it's probably silly for me to worry because medically, I seem fine. I guess I just want to be a mother so bad that I worry about "running out of time".

Has anyone else had worries like this? I'm sure I'm not the only one but could really use some support getting over this little (or BIG!) fear!

Thanks!

Re: Just need to vent!

First. welcome to the board..

I totally understand what you are saying and you are not alone im sure. Truthfully there is no way of knowing how long it will take for you to get pregnant. It's all a crap shoot to be honest. You can be the healthiest person in the world but still not be able to conceive. I don't want to scare you but that's just the way it is. If you are not ready to have a child..then you have to do what's best for you and y our future family and wait until you are ready. The fear comes with the territory.. unfortunately!!

Good luck!!

Welcome!

I totally feel the same way. My goal in life is to be a mom and if you asked me what my ambition is it wouldn't have anything to do with a job, but it would be about being a great mom...that being said I am scared that I will have trouble accomplishing that. It's one thing that is out of our hands...and it's scary...hang in there!

Re: Just need to vent!

I think that this is something that alot of people worry about even if its onlysubconcious. Iknow alot of my friends have worried abotu this at some point. we were going to wait until May, but I am 33 and he is 37 and due to our age I am CONVINCED that we will have issues. Forget about the fact that I have a 13 year old from a previous relatioship that was conceived no problem! So we just decided to start now.

If you aren't ready yet, I would just take this time to get healthy, save money, pay off debt, & enjoy time alone with DH. See your OB and make sure you have no health issues that need to be taken care of first (cysts, fibroids) and find out how far in advance you should start taking prenatals.

Welcome...don't worry you are not alone...for the first few months of TTC i was sure that i couldn't conceive and then i did....stress doesn't help so try not to freak yourself out too much and you will know when the time is right. you are young and have many years ahead of your to have a baby! good luck!
