Lump after mastectomy?
My dads wife was diagnosed with IBC(inflammatory breast cancer) 8 years ago. She had a mastectomy and then reconstructive surgery using skin from her stomach. She just found another lump in the same breast. She has an MRI tomorrow but is it possible for cancer to reoccur in a reconstructed breast?

Re: Lump after mastectomy?
It's possible to find cancer anywhere unfortunately.
Please don't panic yet. There are a few reasons a lump would happen. Only one of them is a re-occurance.
cysts, scar tissue, adema, non cancerous tumors.
If it is cancer again hopefully it's caught very early.
I'll be praying for her and thinking of you. I'm sure she is very anxious but hopefully the lump is benign.
Please let us know how it turns out.

Re: Lump after mastectomy?
Thanks Susan!! We're hoping it's just scar tissue from the reconstruction. We should have the results saturday sometime. I'll let you know what the outcome is.
