Just want to share some fun
Dh and I took my 10 year old sister today. It was great!! She said she wanted to just hang out, "nothing special" as she said .  So we picked her up for the afternoon.
We first went to starbucks, where she picked a strawberries & cream Frappuccino. Then, Michaels Crafts and to Toys r Us. She picked out some birthday decorations for her party next month, which is High School Musical themed. After that we went to the restaurant of her choice, which was Applebees. 
It was great to take her out and spend some time with out our youngest sister who is 6. After we had dinner I brought her to a friends house fr a sleepover. She kept thanking us for everything (which wasn't much).

That does sound nice! It's good that she's that kind of kid that can appreciate that. Some of my nieces have to always be "doing" something to be happy. They can be exhausting.

I'm sure it meant a lot to her, we always remember the people who paid attention to us. I can STILL remember my aunt playing endless hours of shoots and ladders with me, and i must have been about 5 or 6. You CAN make a real difference in a child.

I love doing things like that with my nieces... you get the best of both worlds... all the fun of having a kid around for the day... and all the fun of giving them back at the end of the day!

I know it was your sister, but I am so wanting to spend more time with my niece and nephews now! It's so easy to forget how much it meant when I was a child to spend time with my aunts and uncles, you get so caught up in life.
I'm going to check my calendar later and book dates with the kids!!

Lol!! Thanks ladies!! it was great.. I actually have 2 sisters and the other is 6  , so her turn is coming up for a day alone too.

Awww, what a great big sister you are!
She'll remember stuff like that forever. My oldest sibling is 10 years older than I am. I still think one of my favorite memories was him taking me to my first concert ever -- The Cure.

Thats great!!! I was an only child till almost 18, so I am trying to be what I would have wanted.
