When did you feel"secure" with the Pg?
meaning you were more or less calm and felt things were ok? Do you ever feel that way even?
I'm only 7 and 1/2 weeks PG and I dont know how to be excited b/c I feel at this early there more of a chance of losing one ......
I know the stress is not good, and I'm trying to be optimistic but I'm just so frightened all the time of losing one of the babies

When I saw the two heartbeats I was pretty secure. I just had a feeling that they would stick.

I thought thats how I would feel but now I find myself questioning did one look smaller then the other, less formed etc etc...you get where I'm going. i need to calm myself down and just trust God will give us whats best...its hard though.

Re: When did you feel"secure" with the Pg?
To be perfectly honest - i don't think i ever felt "secure" - between every appointment the anticipation would drive me nuts - waiting to hear/see those 2 hearts beating again.
I just tried my best to stay positive and optimistic - even though I am probably one of the most negative people!
You said it yourself - trust that the man upstairs is watching over you and will guide you thru this - and in the end it will be just as he wants it to be.

Re: When did you feel"secure" with the Pg?
I never really did. I was always worried about every little thing Ia felt. That being said, I did relax a bit after each milestone - seeing the heartbeats, the 12 wk sono, end of the 1st tri, the level II, reaching 24 weeks.

Re: When did you feel"secure" with the Pg?
I went into every veist holding my breath, expecting to hear that one or both lost their heartbeats. I started to relax a little after the level two, but really didn't feel secure until I knew they could live on their own about 30 weeks. I think everyone who has had a M/C after having a heartbeat lives with the fear it will happen again.
CONGRATS TO YOU!!!!!

Just wanted to say-not sure if you remember I posted on Parenting..Ronan did not show up at all on 1st sono, HB was only 99(they like to see 100) and he was 9 days behind his brother at one point. I also found out after that they wrote in my medical records-high probablility of vanishing twin syndrome. And he is here and full of spirit and 100% healthy! He actually came through RSV much better than his bigger stronger brother.
Anyway-for me and I hate to say it but I want to be honest. It was after 20 weeks. I had such a crazy history I couldn't believe everything would finally work out for me ya know? Seriously until I was like 28 weeks or so I would get all nervous before appts

Re: When did you feel"secure" with the Pg?
Thanks everyone for your honesty. Its ok to say it took a while, if ever to feel secure, b/c while I would like to feel different, at least I feel "normal" ...
W ith my history I didnt feel safe till I heard my son cry for the first time and expect to be that way again, just trying to hear success stories and tips on relaxing b/c I dont wanna make myself nuts for the next 7 and 1/2 months!

Re: When did you feel"secure" with the Pg?
It was after the first trimester that I started to relax a little more.

Re: When did you feel"secure" with the Pg?
Honestly 24 weeks because that was the point where if they had to be delivered their was a chance for survival. And after 30 weeks I felt even better.

Re: When did you feel"secure" with the Pg?
I wasn't secure until they were here - pregnancy is so scary...I never thought it would be but I also didn't know all that goes into it and all that could happen

Re: When did you feel"secure" with the Pg?
I pray a lot! I got a little more secure after the first trimester ended. Now I'm almost 23 weeks and I just want to be 24 weeks because that is the "age of viability" i.e., when they have a chance to live on the outside. I'm sure once I'm 24 weeks I'll be anxious to be 28 weeks because that's when they have an even better chance of surviving without health risks... And so on until they are born!

Re: When did you feel"secure" with the Pg?
I dont think I ever did....My history was so bad. I just took it day by day. Set short term goals or things to look forward to.
And yet..throughout my pregnancy I never worried about their being anything wrong with them (which most people worried about during pregnancy..KWIM?) I just worried about getting them here.

Me too! I was sick up until 14 weeks. I didn't really eat, I had horrible dry heeves! I kept counting the days!
When I had my 20 weeks, I felt so much better!

I felt the same way-we didn't even do any prenatal testing except for sonos

Funny you say this, I am thinking of not having much testing done either b/c its just going to add to un-needed stress.
