Newbie Question
Hi Ladies,
I'm new here!
And of course I have a question for you!
I was on BC for the last 10 years or so. I finally went off a year ago to try to see what my body would do without it (and because i'm into doing everything as naturally as possible now). I've only gotten my period a few times, and i haven't had a visit in months.
My midwife told me not to be concerned, that women get pg all the time without having periods. She said it's very possible to ovulate and not menstruate. Has anyone heard of this or experienced it?
We are OK with adoption if this route doesn't work out. I don't want to go nuts trying, but i do want to know if something is wrong with me that needs to be fixed for other reasons. We've only officially been TTC for one month now...so i'll go back in a few months and see what she has to say if there is no BFP before then.
I wish everyone lots of luck in your journey!

Re: Newbie Question
Hello and Welcome! I was on the BCP for 13 years when I stopped. My period has been all over the place. I feel now that 8 months after I stopped the pill I am just starting to get regular. Good Luck!!

Re: Newbie Question
I was on the pill for 13 years and my cycles have been regular since I've been off of it.
If your healthcare profession told you that it is okay I wouldn't stress about it. Give it a couple of months of trying before you start worrying.
Good Luck

Re: Newbie Question
I would imagine if one's lining was too thin-but I really don't know! Welcome and good luck. Remember, your body needs time to regulate after coming off of BC, so don't get freaked out!

Re: Newbie Question
Hi everyone,
Thanks so much for the responses!
I'm trying not to freak out...it's easy to get caught up in this (i'm sure you all know)!!!
I guess my question was more, has anyone heard of this occurring? My midwife made it sound pretty typical, but i haven't spoken to anyone that's heard of it.

Re: Newbie Question
I am not sure I get what your midwife meant by saying you can ovulate and not menstruate If you are ovulating you will menstruate. Now you can get your period and not ovulate.
I highly recommend you read Taking Charge of your Fertility if you want to go a natural route. It is very informative.
Welcome and good luck!
