Re: What happens when you and your spouse are laid off? When are things going to get better????
I am both DH and I are laid off. I for almost a year from a Timeshare Co and DH since August from a Sand Co doing clerical. We live in Central Florida so the jobs are very scarce and it is frustrating so much that it is putting a strain on our marriage. We tried to help each other if we found jobs while searching but we never got a call back from the hundreds of jobs we applied for. Some I could have got if I was given a chance. We came to see that we might be very overqualified so that is one big problem we face when applying for jobs down here. So we made the decision to move back home to Long Island in the next few weeks where there are quadruple the jobs that are our background and we have a shot at. We are moving in with family until we get back on our feet. I really hope it gets better soon too for us and for everyone else. This economy blows.
I hope you and DH find something soon. I know it is hard but you guys will get through it. I would try any and all temp agencies and I found indeed.com and careerbulder.com very helpful in looking for jobs.
