Newbie Here!

Hello! I am new to LIfamiles! I have been searching the internet looking for answers to my question with no success. So that is why I am here, for some possible answers.

My question is what do you think? Here's my story. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a few months now with no success. (I have been off BC for 4 months) My last cycle lasted for only 21 days. This month AF came and lasted for two weeks. Well i think two weeks ( very light for the first 6 days and then heavy for the rest)it has been 26 days since the begining of my last AF and no AF in sight. I have had some mild cramping for the last 6 days and I would have bet money that AF was coming yesterday and nothing. Should I call my doctor or wait? Took a early pregnancy test this monrning with a BFN.

Thank you for any suggestions!

Hello and Welcome!! I would make a drs appt anyway to discuss you irregular cycle and TTC. I went and spoke with my dr and she ran tests and talked about different things that are going on. I felt so much better after. Each month I understand more! Good luck!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Newbie Here!

Are you sure when you think that your cycle is very short that you got an actual period and you aren't just spotting? I know I often spot right around the time I ovulate. Usually it's right before due to a dip in the hormones that cause you to release an egg.

I would try reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility and start charting. You can chart on Fertility friend. Also ovulation predictor kits might help you to determine when you are ovulating.

It's possible that your body is still regulating itself after coming off the pill. I would chart for a month or two and if you can't detect ovulation I would call your doc!

Good luck!

Re: Newbie Here!

as a recent gal off bcp, i can tell u this, it has totally messed with me. first month 45 days, then 33, now i am at 40+ still waiting for AF to show her face.

i can tell you this - from what ive been told, and what i have been reading...it is def normal that girls need 3+ months off bcp to regulate.

Chat Icon Chat Icon for you. good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!
