I like having things to do on weekends but...
I'm gonna  if someone asks me to do something else on a Saturday!
We were trying to figure out when we could go in to see my inlaws on a Saturday and the first date I have available is May 23rd! The next weekend after that is booked too because it's Memorial Day and my nephew/godson's birthday.
I'm floored that the first weekend I can plan anything new on is in JUNE. I feel bad that my in-laws are being pushed off so far, considering that my MIL's birthday is May 5th.
I think we might have to separate to get everything covered between his family and mine. Am I alone here, is it weird for someone to ask you when you want to hang out and you tell them in 2 months?

Just talked to my sister tonight, who informed me that Memorial Day is actually the weekend I thoguht was free. So now I have no idea when I'll see the in-laws.
There are worse things in life.

The same thing happens to me. OR everything seems to happen on the same day. April 25th had about 4 things going on.

Yes and also what doesn't help is DH's schedule.
He has a funky unpredictable work schedule so FORGET about trying to make plans! 
Now just imagine we all had kids how much worse it would be!

I understand your frustration. Usually we dont get booked up like that until the summer, just when we want to RELAX the most!!! We live by the beach so usually people want to come down each weekend to hang out, which is ok and expected at this point. I usually hate going to bbq's 'inland' in the summer cause i'm missing my beach time! Plus my mom's familiy is from jersey so i try to minimize any time there as much as possible, unless i can tie it to AC lol!!

I thought Memorial Day weekend was the 23rd  great- now we have like three things booked that weekend and we were planning on going away- oh well!

It is. It's actually on the 25th, that Monday. I thought it was the weekend after, because my nephew's bday is the 31st. I was wrong.

It usually starts in the end of June for us and goes all summer.
We have started saying no to MANY events because it's just plain ridiculous to not have kids and still have hardly any alone time together.

I have the opposite problem.
All my friends moved out of state, or are busy with their kids, so the in-laws are the only people who want to see us.
If I do ever have plans, of course they all fall on thr same day.

We are really protective of our time together because DH works on the weekends, so we don’t like to go anywhere when he gets home from work. Both our families are REALLY small and no one has small children so we generally don’t have anything we have to do.
