How long would you wait to contact them if they haven't contacted you?

I used to send a "thank you" email after every interview (I always made sure to get the business cards of everyone I met with).

If it's a job I was interested in, I would follow up after a week or so. But of the jobs I have gotten, I didn't have to do any follow ups. I heard back from them right away.

Thanks. A thank you email has been sent and we are just waiting. It is a job for DH overseas.

Has anyone here gotten a job they had to follow up on. I really want him to get this job, but I have never gotten a job in which I had to follow up on.

yes - i've gotten a job which i had to follow up on. it was a ridiculously long process from start to finish, i'd say my first follow up was probably a week and a half after a thank you was sent. it took a few follow ups to find out what the next steps for me would be (second interview with the same person). after that, it moved pretty fast though.
