I am going to give Dr Bergman a shot...I am high risk and preg w/#2. He has a sono tech that comes to the Great Neck office weekly for in-house sonos and the nurses take all the blood and stuff. There are 2 offices - smaller one in Woodbury, and one in Great Neck. It is about 6 dr's but Bergman I know is one of the high risk dr's from the group. I will deliver at North Shore Manhasset. I think the name of the practice is "Preferred Women's Health"

I second Dr. Bergman! He is awesome!!!! I am not high risk, but my sister is. However, he is the one who helped me through my little crisis in the beginning of my pregnancy and earned my and my DH's trust immediately! In fact, I live all the way in eastern suffolk and refuse to switch to a doctor closer and will deliver at NSUH myself. Totally recommend him!

I was not high risk, but also recommend Dr. Bergman! I saw him several times throughout my pregnancy and each appointment with him was wonderful! My DH absolutely loved him too! He is truly a fantastic doctor with an awesome bedside manner!

I would HIGHLY recommend Victor Klein. He has an office with Nimaroff and Alkasabe at 825 Northern in GN (basically down the block from the hospital). He's a genius.

Re: NSUH - high risk doctor

I just cannot say enough good things about preferred womens health and not only Dr. Bergman, but all the dr's there.

They are all amazing, caring drs. I had my emergency surgery with them, I was brand new to the practice and they treated me with nothing but kindness, respect, and love.

Recently I had another emergency and the drs kept calling ME to check how I felt. In addition I had some bleeding early in pregnancy. they never blew me off (as some of my old practices have done), or belittled my concerns. They saw me every time I had a concern.

I highly recommend them!!!

Just wanted to add that they do the special sonos 2 times a week in the great neck office (ultrascreen & level 2) with a specific dr but they do regular sonos in either office. In the beginning I had a sono every single week in woodbury with bergman. it is nice not to have to go somehwere else and in one appt he could not hear the HB with the doppler so we just popped in the other room for a quick sono..he was like don't worry i won't let you leave without seeing or hearing your baby...he is the best!!

I second him. He seems a little weird at first but he really listens and doenst sugar coat things and knows his stuff. Plus he sort of gives you what you want. Out of the three in that practice i have seen him 2 times and like him the most. BUT anyone in that practice is good. You would see all 3 during your pregnancy usually because either one could be on call when you deliver.

All 3 are great and you may like one more than the other but trust me they are all good.

Re: NSUH - high risk doctor

I use Maternal Fetal Medicine in Great Neck which has 6 doctors in the group. I am very happy with them and I have to go see them every 2 weeks. Their number is 516-622-5155. Good luck.......
