Those put on bedrest...

My doctor just put me on bedrest at 26 weeks (see my post on Pregnancy board for details).

For those of you that were put on bedrest, how far along were you and how long did you stay on bedrest and when were your twins born?

Any tips for dealing with bedrest? I'm supposed to be in a recline position for 90% of each day.

I wasnt put on bedrest but my doctor didnt want me working anymore and I was also 26 weeks.

Basically I was told that I had to rest alot, I had to limit my activity. In the morning I would go out and buy my breakfast and lunch and then I would be in the house for the rest of the day resting. I watched alot of TV!!

I delivered at 34 1/2 weeks because I had started to lose fluid.

i went on bed rest 4/19/08. i delivered at 38.5 weeks on 6/23. at 36 weeks i was "off" bed rest. i was beyond where my drs hoped i would be so they took my restrictions off.

my advice is ENJOY IT
you will never get this time back.

at the beginning i was anxious about work ( even through i expected to be quitting) i was stressed about my limitations etc. but then i sat out side every day read alot, played on the pc and caught up on tivo. and there were the endless dr appts.

seriously now i have 9 months twins and 2 pt time jobs ( i ended up trying to quit that job they offered me prt time,. i already had a pt time job lined up so for this yr i am doing both) and zero time.

i am very happy dont get me wrong but i wish i had that time back. it was so relaxing. no one wants you do do ANYTHING but take care of your self. when will that ever be the case again?

I'm not on technical bedrest like you but my doctor did tell me to stop working at 32 weeks. I've just been resting at home, catching up on some books, watching tv and making photo albums . It does get boring but working and being too active was just getting to be too much for me anyway and causing pain and contractions. Try to enjoy the time. Did the doctor say how far along he would like you to go?

I was put on hospital bedrest at 29 weeks. I also had a 3 year old at home so it was so hard.

Read and rest as much as possible b/c after the babies arrive you will wish the Dr. would put you on bedrest.

I delivered at 34.5 weeks.

I was put on bed rest at 31 weeks, after spending 4 days in the hospital for preterm contractions. They were born at 37w5d, by scheduled c-section. I was really bored while on bedrest, I mostly watched tv and spent time on the computer. And slept. Ah I miss those days, lol!!!

I was put on bedrest at 33 weeks (they came at 36). My DH got me a PSP and a new game that took me 3 days to finish ....after that I read, thought to myself I will never get pregnant ever again , read and watched some old movies I always wanted to watch and like 100 episodes of a Baby Story on TLC. It was the middle of summer so that stunk, but sometimes I got up and sat outside on the porch for awhile.

Enjoy the time....after they are here you will be looking back at that time.

Thanks all! Just an update as I'm 30 wks and still pregnant! We'll see how much longer we make it! I'm hoping the girls are born on or after May 22 so that they are born Gemini-the sign of twins!
