Re: Starting the South Beach Diet...
One of my favorites is the South Beach mini quiche--they're really easy to make and really good!
When my friend was on the South Beach Diet she would make eggs or egg whites and Jennie-O turkey sausage. Turkey anything is a good choice!
I know that South Beach has a recipe to make faux mashed potatoes with Cauliflower and it's so good!

I used to make the quiche cups too, yummmmmmmm so good! You can put anything in them and they are great! Or just hard boiled eggs (no yolk) is good too, celery and peanut butter, hmm I cannot think of what else I used to eat but love the diet.

How about portabello pizza.
get big portabello mushrooms, tomato sauce and cheese. pretty good.
I am going to start following the diet again also. The only thing is I do not eat the sugarfree stuff.
Good Luck!!

Re: Starting the South Beach Diet...
DH and I started Phase 1 yesterday to lose all this baby weight
We had done it last year and lost about 25 pounds each so we know it works
I just copy the menus from the book and post it on the fridge so he knows what to take to work. It takes alot of prep work- chopping veggies, makiing snacks portion sized etc but its worth it.
We both lost 2 pounds from yesterday morning to this morning so seeing it come down little by little is such good motivation for us.

Re: Starting the South Beach Diet...
NICE!!! Thanks Ladies!!! We should keep this thread going if we discover any good foods
FOR EXAMPLE-
Sugar Free jello is on sale at waldbaums until tomorrow AND if you spend $40 in certain foods (such as kraft low fat cheese and JELLO) you receive a $10 credit toward your next order
Last night I made "stuffed peppers"- really not but its a lazy low carb take on my original recipe:
Ground turkey diced green peppers a little tomato sauce (or a can of diced tomatoes) Low fat shredded mozzarella
sautee in a pan until peppers are soft and meat is cooked through, add sauce and top with cheese
Its really yummy- you can add spices to taste obviously. You could also do it with ground beef if you want- it actually is much better with beef but we were trying to be good

Re: Starting the South Beach Diet...
I am a big fan of SBD. I am at work so I don't have the bookmark, but there is a site called "South Beach Century Club" that has tons of recipes and they are divided by Phase and type (breakfast, snack, dessert) There is a great recipe for "wendy's" chili and also a broc - cheese soup which I bring for lunch a lot.
Good luck!

Awesome!!! Thank you! So far Day 4 of Phase 1 and I'm doing pretty good. I haven't really felt hungry or deprived. I think DH is having a harder time than I am but I really love this diet.
I def feel like my clothes are starting to fit me better too!
