IEP question for special education teacehrs!

I feel so silly for NOT knowing this ... but I have an IEP due Monday so I need some answers!

I have a student who receives counseling. I completed the IEP and wrote up the social/emotional performance page.
His guidance counselor gave me a page for his counseling goals AND included a social/emotional performance page. Does that mean I don't include the one I did? Since he receives counseling, was a still required to complete that page?

Thank you SOOOO much for ANY input!!

In my school, we can have social emotional goals who are the responsibility of the sped teacher and we have some who are the responsibilitiy of the school psych. We don't have guidance counselors doing it.

I agree...b ut we dont' have guidance counselors in our school, so the psychologist does it. many schools that hve counselors are the ones that do that portion.

i do a bit of both. if it's a goal that it's more of a dailything that the teacher would see, then i make it the responsibility of the sp. ed. teacher. if it's something that has to be addrsesed in counseling (like the student will model 3 socially appropriate ways of resolving conflict, for example) than I make that the responsiblity of the psych. because that would be goal she would address in her sessions with the child. does that make sense?

In my school if the child receives counseling it is the responsibility of the person that services the child.

In my school, the teachers complete the social levels/needs and they may or may not include classroom based social/emotional goals that are the responsibility of the special ed teacher. As the psychologist who does IEP counseling, I input my own social/emotional goals that apply to counseling. I put the counselor as responsible for those goals.

If the counselor did the same part of the IEP that you did, what about looking it over and incorporating his into what you had already?

In my school, which is NYC, we just had a whole new class about the different ways of writing the new goals. Anyways- I do not write pg 4, the counselor does. She/he also writes pg 6. I do not include one.
