Going to a baby shower tomorrow. . .

I am actually looking forward to it--I really like the parents to be & am really happy for them & I am excited to give them their gift.

It is at their house, it should be casual & fun, but I was trying to decide what to wear & I kept thinkg that I need to make it clear that *I* am not also pregnant! Some of these empire dresses & tops. . .

I also am slighlty worried that there will be a few, "so are you next?" type questions.



I guess I don't really have a point or a question, I just wanted to share!

sounds fun, supposed to have good weather tomorrow too.

if you get the are you next question you can say no. or my other fave reply to those questions, the ambiguous and meaningless "It's all good"

Yes, don't wear an empire waist top- you don't want to upstage the preggo!

It's funny because when you said that it kind of reminded me of how you never where white to a wedding so as not to upstage the bride.

I usually go with, "Oh, I don't know, we'll see. . ."
I am not a "definitely not" person, which sometimes I think would be easier.

Jen, I definitely *don't* want to upstage the mom to be. I never would anyway ( even if I were pg), but she is so sweet & not a center of attention person, but at her bridal shower her cousin announced that she was getting married the next week (a quickie city hall thing) & invited her to the family right then & there, and now this same cousin in pg & announced it right before my friend was going to & she already had her shower, so I am hoping this can finally be about my friend a little.

The outfit thing is hard though--I always feel so fat in summer close & I am pretty sure this friend weighs less than me even though she is 7 months pregnant!

Thanks all, it was fun! Hot, but fun. It was a co-ed BBQ, with just a brief gift opening thrown in.

No obnoxious questions were directed to me, or anyone else as far as I could here. There was one lady who kept talking about wanting to have a "never had a baby" shower forherself .

There was a good mix of people, a few kids, other couples without kids, people who were together a long time & not married, single people, so it wasn't one of those high pressures, lets talk about babies all day things.


And I saw a picture of myself with the momma to be & it is clear that SHE is pregnant & not ME!

sounds like a lot of fun! love the 'never had a baby shower' idea lol...sounds like it wasnt boring at all.
