tortellini - question.

Pre-PG I ate these tortellinis from Trader Joe that were stuffed with proscioutto - can I still eat them? The pasta gets cooked of course. Or would you not risk it?

Ok I just realized my original subject of" tortellini stuffing" sounded really weird:)

I think that's fine... especially because it will be cooked.

I actually ate soppressata (sp?) 2x... it's just so delicious Chat Icon

Re: tortellini - question.

it's cooked so you should definitely have no problem.

I spent a week in Italy not too long ago...don't ask me how many times I enjoyed it with cheese Chat Icon

please don't get too worked up over the food things.

most cheeses in the US are pasteurized.

the likelyhood of getting listeria from cold cuts is VERY low.

Japanese pregnant women eat sushi

caffeine is NOT the devil in normal amounts.

mimosas and bellini's can be your friend every now and again

anything overly processed is generally NOT good for you, preggo or not.

eat fresh, eat your veggies, take your vitamins and ENJOY!

That was so nice to read - lately I've been getting annoyed by everyone's opinions on what I should and shouldn't eat. My mom works in a hospital and she has my dad call me the other night to tell me that the women in the peds unit said to not eat Mr. Softee...I told them, that's not on the list of things to stay away from that the dr gave me, so I'm ignoring you Chat Icon If I only ate what everyone else thinks, I'd be eating rice and drinking water for the next 5 1/2 months!

Re: tortellini - question.

OMG, thank goodness for Orphelia's list...my OB is insanely anal about what I can and cannot eat. I'm not allowed ANY fish or shellfish not even in small amounts, no cold cuts, no caffeine, no raw cheeses and since I'm having aversions to chicken...I've been stuck with a vegetarian diet w/some beef!!!
