Starting a salsa business?

Anyone start their own similar company? Just curious where you started...we're just starting out and don't know about laws, etc. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it trememdously!!!

Salsa as in a dip, or salsa as in a dance?

Re: Starting a salsa business?

My coworkers friend has a salsa company that they are trying to get backing on.
They have been written up online and have salsa parties with foodies that blog to get their name out there.

They have presented to Whole Foods, but the issue is backing b/c you can't make that kind of volume at home. They are working on their business plan.

They have like 4-5 kinds of salsas.
She sold some to us at work.
I thought they were delish, but I don't know if I would pay alot for gourmet salsa.

Thanks for the replies. DH makes salsa (to eat!) and other sauces and dips that people rave about. I'm sure it's not an easy business to break into!

You might want to contact Farmingdale State Small Business Development Center for information on how to get started.

That link doesn't work for me. Did you mean sba.gov?
