unemployment question
if you are receiving unemployment and you are asked to go in to the DOL to show them the list of people you contacted for job opps...do they actually contact those people?
I'm trying to understand how they determine whether you continue to get benefits.

I did this last year & I don't think they checked any. I just had listed all the jobs I applied for (mostly on-line) and the person at UE just told me about other websites, etc. to find jobs. I think there is way too many people on UE for them to start checking.

ITA, they don't even have the man power themselves to start checking up on the thousands that are UE. However, I would still make sure you do keep on applying for jobs and making sure you have recruiters listed too, just to be safe.
