Thinking of going to school for Medical Billing - Help Needed Please!
I am thinking of going back to school to be a medical biller (figure it would be a good p/t job after baby is born). I just started looking but it would appear that there are all different types of programs. Some are adult ed, some are a little more extensive and some are like 9 months for 4K. I dont really know what qualifications you need and whether the more expensive programs are necessary. Any help would be greatly appreciated

this is located on LI
I used to work there. the owners and staff are extremely knowledgeable, especially regarding spine and orthopedic subspecialty billing.
good luck.

Re: Thinking of going to school for Medical Billing - Help Needed Please!
I took a course at Branford Hall in Ronkonkoma. at the time, the course was 3 months long..I think they have extended it.
After I finished I looked for a job and there are a few large medical billing companies on LI.
Honestly, dont beleive the ads that its something you can do at home, because the large billing companies do it for a lot less than you could ever do it at home.
Most doctors use medical billing companies or have a full time biller in the office.

My MIL went to Hunter Business School in Levittown for billing and she went for about 9 months. I think they have shorter courses too but I am not sure.
