Telling your family
How did you ladies tell your family you were preggers? For my Inlaws i am just going to make pink and blue cupcakes and write we're having a baby and for my parents, DH and my dad have this joke that i will be moving in my parents house and my dad will be moving in Mine and DH's house for nine months. So we are going to go over there with suitcases. We are telling them tomorrow. I don't know why, but i am soooooooooo nervouse!

Re: Telling your family
DH and I bought grandpa and grandma frames for both my parents and IL's and I invited both sets over for dinner. I put a picture of the 3 digital tests I took in the frames...so when they opened it was pretty self explanatory! We had champagne on hand and it was fun!

Re: Telling your family
For some reason I was very nervous telling our family, even though I knew they'd be thrilled. We live with my MIL so we just kind of went up to her with the pregnancy test and said "Look at this" Then we went to my mother's. I used the excuse that I had a piece of mail for her and I put the positive pregnancy test in an envelope. Then just yesterday we told my father, brother, sister and BIL over dinner. I was REALLY nervous telling my dad so I just kind of blurted out "James and I are having a baby"
I feel much happier now that they know

Re: Telling your family
I found out right around hubby's birthday. So I went to Kohls and bought an outfit that say's "I Love my Daddy" and put it in a gift bag. I then went over to my Mom's with my best friend and her hubby, (my hubby was working) and I asked my Mom if she wanted to see what I got hubby for his birthday. She was like sure. She opened up the bag and pulled out the outfit and almost lost it right there. First grand kid for her. She was so excited. Of course she got on the phone and called her entire family and told them.

Re: Telling your family
Had them over for dinner and gave them both the same card that said "congrats on your new grandchild" at that point (4 weeks) we only thought we were having one!
I made brothers cards and told them that way. I wrote it as if they babies had wrote it.
Then we told our extended families on Mothers's Day at my nephew's christening. I was 10 weeks.

Re: Telling your family
We had my parents and ILs over for a bbq when I was 11w3d (I didn't want to tell extended family until my 12w appt and my mom can't keep a secret).
My parents arrived an hour early and we were chatting for awhile and stuff and had no clue. We told htem when ILs got there and it was great.
I was nervous as well! It's weird telling people after you've kept it a secret for so long!

Re: Telling your family
All such cute ideas. We got confirmation yesterday that our second blood test came back great. The levels were good. We told 2 sets of friends yesterday becuase we go to the bar with them every thursday and they would know something was up if we stopped going or i just didnt drink. Once i didn't have a drink in my hands they knew.
My brother lives 5 houses away from me so when we got home last night we went over there and he was in the kitchen talking to DH. I was in the living room and just blurted out "how do you feel about being an uncle"?
Tonight, we get to tell our parents. I am sooooooooo excited and a little nervous.
