New mommy to LIFamilies!
I have been told by a lot of friends and family to visit this site, so I am finally doing it.
My daughter is now 11 weeks old and I am just loving every minute of being a mommy. She really is a great baby! I was very fortunate to have her in May and be out on maternity leave for 8 weeks. I am a teacher and did not return to work. So my leave took me right into the summer. It was such great timing!
My first question is ...my daughter just started putting her hands in her mouth. I mean it is all the time. She is still too young to be teething. Is this a normal thing babies do at this age? I just don't want her to become a thumb sucker. I don't use a pacifier but started using a teething ring which looks a lot better than the hands in the mouth.

My 3rd daughter Eva was 3 months old when she got her first tooth ,so you never know ,she might be teething ! I would give her the teething ring nice and cold

Welcome! It's a normal part of development for babies to put everything in their mouth. That's how they explore their environment. It doesn't necessarily mean they're teething.

ITA, completely normal behavior regardless of teething or not.
Although she isn't too young. My oldest DD had 2 teeth at 3 months old and my other 2 babies cut teeth in their 4th month.
Welcome!

Congrats and welcome! It's a totally normal thing for babies to put the hands in the mouth. My DD is 9 weeks now and has been doing that since she was about 1 week old.

Yup! ITA. It's how they learn about their environment (and if they're in daycare, it's how they get sick )
and welcome!

Re: New mommy to LIFamilies!
Welcome, my son is about the same age. Born May 28th! He puts his hands in his mouth all the time. Sometimes can put th whole fist in there. I give him a paci b/c it seems to soothe him. I remember in the sono pics he was sucking his thumb.

My DD is 12 weeks old and puts everything in her mouth. It's the totally normal oral stage of development. She also started sucking her thumb within the past week.
