LCD and HDMI cable ???
I have a dumb question regarding hooking up your cable to a LCD TV using an HDMI cord. Do you still need a cable going to the cable box (the old fashioned kind that has the little piece of metal sticking out) and into the TV in addition to the HDMI cord? Or is the HDMI cord enough? I can't seem to get my cable working with the HDMI cord. Only the old fashioned 3 plug type cords. I have the line in from the cable company attached to the cable box. Hope this question makes sense.

no
Make sure you have the correct HDMI input selected on your tv.
plug the cable wire into the cable box..take the hdmi cable from the cable box and plug it into the HDMI port on the tv...select that input on your tv..your done.
perhaps, something is faulty if it still not working. try the other hdmi inputs if avaiable.

I didn't think I had to. We had a problem with our TV and when we got it back from the repair shop, none of the HDMI inputs are working. We took it back and they insist they are working. Ughh, I don't know what to do. I tried all the inputs and 2 different HDMI cables and nothing.

Re: LCD and HDMI cable ???
Did you ensure that the input through the tv settings is on HDMI, as opposed to the other options? You'll have to scroll through the options in the TV's menu.
If it's not set on the HDMI then it will in effect look as though your HDMI ports are broken.

Tried this too and called Sharp apparently the HDMI inputs aren't working properly although the repair shop insists they are. I guess I am going to be warring with them to try and get the matter resolved. I called and I am already getting the run around.
