Reality is really starting to hit hard.........

2 weeks left..... (for nyc teachers anyway!.... I know some have already started and some start sooner than we do!)


It's 3:10am on a Sunday night (okay, technically Monday mornijng) .... and I can't help but think that in a few weeks, I won't be able to get away with these all nighters. I am such a night person, I am truly an owl at heart!

Right now, our spare bedroom (used as an office) looks like a classroom! I have been storing things in their for my classroom that I have been collecting gradually all summer long. I can't believe that in just a few weeks, that space will be empty, my classroom will be ready to roll, and the early hour on my alarm clock will be set. My clothes will be laid out, and I'll be sure to have fresh milk in the fridge because there will be NO TIME to run out for it in the morning before breakfast.


Right now, if I am awake at 10am, it feels early to me...... but in a few weeks from now, at 10am I will have been awake for over 4 hours, dressed, and out the door.



Lets all embrace the next few weeks!!

And for those who have started already...... Congrats on completing your first day!

My kids come back tomorrow- I had the worst case of jitters/Sunday blues last night!

UGH......Right now, my day pretty much starts at 2. As of September 8th, at 2 my work day will just be ending!

I am with you 100%. I can't seem to fall asleep at night until about three and cannot get my butt out of bed at a decent time in the morning. I dread going back I have always been a night person.

I seriously can't believe it..... I feel like it was June YESTERDAY and I snapped my fingers and it's the end of August!!

Omggggggggg I think the same thing all the time!!!! It'll be like 10:30 and I'll be sitting on the couch being lazy and feeling tired and think to myself "if I were in school, it would almost be lunch time already" lol!!! Thats too funny- I thought I was alone on that one... guess not

I am also going to bed at like 230-3am EVERYDAY so its going to be rough getting up early again.... ughhhhhhhh how depressing!

Omggggggggg I think the same thing all the time!!!! It'll be like 10:30 and I'll be sitting on the couch being lazy and feeling tired and think to myself "if I were in school, it would almost be lunch time already" lol!!! Thats too funny- I thought I was alone on that one... guess not

I am also going to bed at like 230-3am EVERYDAY so its going to be rough getting up early again.... ughhhhhhhh how depressing!

Luckily, I have tried to stick to a fairly constant sleep schedule, going to be only a little later (30 minutes) than I usually do, however I have been waking up an hour and a half later.

As for going back to school, while I am excited it just always feel overwhelming. I just had one of my first back to school dreams - they moved my classroom and I forgot to make copies. Oh and for some reason my vision was off and I had a hard time clearly seeing the kids (I think I forgot my contacts )

Ughh I went to bed at 4:30 last night!!!!!! And I couldn't help but think that if it was really a school night, I would have to wake up in an hour and a half!!!!!

Honestly, I'm glad we can all sympathize with each other on this thread, have you ever tried complaining about this to a NON-teacher! Nobody understands like we do......

You def. are not alone

Its the worst complaining to non-teachers b/c all they do is this and then tell me how easy we have it. They have no idea how hard we work from Sept- June! I work through my preps and my lunch just to keep my head above water sometimes! lol

omg i thought i was the only one!!! seriously this summer FLEW too fast and Im definately not ready to go back anytime soon!!!!
