Foot & Hand Cramps
I know that low potassium can be a cause of leg cramping, even calcium, but for the last few weeks I have had SEVERE cramping in my feet and sometimes in my hands. My big toe curls down and I get a shooting pain from the arch of my foot all the way up my ankle. I have to bend my toe all the way forward and stretch my foot and rub the muscle to make it stop. The pain in UNBEARABLE and lasts sometimes for up to 30 minutes!! Occasionally it happens in my hands also, where one or more of my fingers bends and gets "stuck" like that. They have been becoming more frequent and more severe.
Has anyone else had this? What can I do to make it stop????

Re: Foot & Hand Cramps
i have the foot cramps..not the hand ones.
i used to get feet and leg cramps/charlie horses all the time before pregnancy due to my back issues. so it can be something nerve related to your back.
and with the hands, often times it can be nerve related to your neck/shoulders and it travels down to your hands.

Re: Foot & Hand Cramps
I can sympathize.
I woke up with a very painful charley horse yesterday morning. I couldn't even move my leg it was so bad. My leg is still sore over 24 hours later!

Re: Foot & Hand Cramps
I've had foot and calf cramps. Never hand. They usually come in the middle of the night when I'm sleeping and happen to stretch! Horrible pain. I've woken DH a few times screaming! Then I down a bottle of water hoping it will help. I heard its due to dehydration.
