Groin pain question
I know that terrible pain is normal and I had it alot worse with my son. What I DONT remember is my groin area "cracking" and the pain going away. I swear this happens every morning or after laying down (not just sitting) for a long time. It is torture to sit up and swing my legs off the bed, but somewhere in the process, I hear a pop/crack sound and the pain subsides.
Now, can someone tell me if THATS normal?
I always forget to ask these wierd questions at the docs! I need to start keeping a list

Re: Groin pain question
Totally normal! It didnt have the cracking sound with my first, but with my 2nd I do. It stinks!
I am farther along than you are - 29 weeks, but I did talk to my DR about it. She said that with every pregnancy the bones in your pelvis are more loose, and the relaxin hormone kicks in earlier with each pregnancy.
Are you trying to sleep on your side? I had been trying to do this as that is what all of the books recommend, but my DR said that it's not necessary and that I should sleep on my back as long as my legs are not falling asleep. I've been doing this for a couple of weeks now, and it's soooo much better in the morning.
Sleeping on your side lets your pelvic bones sink in together (on top of each other), so the popping sound is them suddenly spreading apart when you get up. It hurts!
Try a search - there was another girl on the boards that posted about her hips actually being mis-aligned and she visited with a phys therapist. This was a little different than my issue and it sounds to me like you have the same problem as me, but reading her post may help!!

Re: Groin pain question
If it bothers you getting in and out of bed, it could be pubic symphysis diastasis.....I have that...Its a seperation of the pubic bone. It hurts me worse getting in bed, rolling over, putting pants on , when I have to lift one leg first and then the next...getting in and out of a car....Those types of activities.
Its very very painful.
ETA- the cracking / popping sound was what gave it awy to my Dr's that was what I had, when I move a certain way my pubic bone literally pops out of place.
There is not much you can do for it, if thats what you have, but some Dr's will reccomend P/T or chiro care if it occurs early and PG and is painful enough to restrict activity.

Re: Groin pain question
Thanks ladies! I had it much worse with #2 (DS) and it started at 8 weeks. I am 17 weeks today and it just started about a week ago, but this is the first pregnancy I had the popping.
I know there is really nothing to do about it and, while the pain is bad, at least its only in the mornings or after taking a nap (which doesnt hapen much anyway
I'm feeling very good otherwise, and I will definitely take this over the all day nausea!
