Who knows you are TTC?

And what do you say when people ask you when you are going to try?


I don't want people to know that we are TTC primarily bc I don't want people (ie my mother) to ask every month. Also, if we are blessed right away I think it will make it easier to not tell people for the first trimester.

Last night we were out and a couple of our friends asked us. I didn't know what to say!


to answer my own question, only my BFF knows, and another really close friend who is "outside" the circle of our regular hangout group.

I've only told one friend--b/c she just had a baby so I've had lots of questions for her regarding going off BCP and irregular cycles.
But our parents don't even know. They know it's in our near future, but don't know we're actively trying.

I'm with you. I didn't want to hear the questions. When people have come out and ask us, I tell them not yet. A little white lie can't hurt, right?

We M/C in july, so everyone I assume thinks we are trying again.

I've told some people who asked that we are waiting a few more months though.

But the only person that we had to tell we are trying these months is our Chiropractor. From our car accident, I have to go 3 times a week, and they use a muscle tense machine and I refuse to use it, even if they say it is safe. I don't want to take any chances..

we're not telling anybody.

when people ask, we tell them: at some point we will, but we're not ready yet.

Only my BFF and my one cousin who is like my sister. Also a few of DH's friends at work. He was asking them ttc related questions. We didn't want our parents to know yet either. Oh, and apparently BIL b/c DH has a big mouth and told him about my faint bfp line yesterday.

No one really. When people ask me when we are going to have kids I alway say "Not today, maybe tomorrow" That seems to do the trick

With my DS we kept it quiet and just let a few people in on the fact that we were trying. Now that we are hoping for DC#2, we are being a little more open about it. It's not what I start a conversation with, but I won't deny it if asked. I kinda just say that we would love to have another soon

Originally, a close GF of mine knew, and otherwise, no one else. However, since my MC, a few more friends know, as there were a few close friends I confided in at the time. There is also one friend who is also TTC, and she and I have become supports for one another.

When people ask me, I usually say something like, "oh, maybe sometimes soon," or something vague like that. I really HATE when people ask me that!

with our first, i made the mistake of being open about the fact that we were gonna start trying...i had no idea it would take us 9 months to get PG and it was so frustrating/annoying having everyone ask me every single month if i was PG...but i can only blame myself for opening my mouth.

this time around only our closest family/friends know, and when people ask when we are gonna have a another DC i just say "when God wants to give us another." no one can really say anything after that

Really just my best friend knows. We haven't told our parents and it's not something I feel comfortable sharing with our group of friends. They can wait until there's something to tell!

If anyone asks us when we're going to have kids, we just say "soon"!

Noone knows...With dh's line of work everything must be kept discreet. ALthough we feel crap about the situation we know its in our best interest.

I also don't want anyone to know because its expected. Although we're young its bloody awful when everyone thinks we are as it is and questions our every move. "Why are you paying a visit to the doctors?" "Where are you two headed on the next holiday? Are you able toride a plane?"

My family knows we're TTC. We haven't come out and said it, but they know how much we want a baby and just know we're trying. My sister knows everything...she's the only one I come right out and tell things to. My Dad's putting pressure on us so I don't discuss it with him.

Two friends at work know also. I'm close with them and had a lot of questions about insurance and what not, so I kind of had to tell them.

We never told my ILs but they assumed we were TTC way before we actually started, I think because my BIL and SIL have been trying and we all got married within a month of one another.

A few friends have their suspicions, although we won't come out and say it. This is because they were trying to plan a trip for May 2010 and DH and I couldn't commit because we didn't know what our situation would be.

My best girl friend knows we were talking about starting soon ....

NOT A SINGLE OTHER PERSON KNOWS!

My family gave me such complete anxiety before we got engaged, always pressuring us to get married. The baby talk has already started since we're almost married 2 years. I could not DEAL with everyone asking us every month!!

We are starting in about a month and my mom, grandma, and 2 of my very close friends know.......


Other than that, I told some random people we "may" start trying in the spring, but haven't really decided yet

We've told 2 of our close friends and I've mentioned to my mom that we will be starting in a couple of months, but thats about it... I dont want people asking me everytime they see me if Im pregnant yet

only my best friend knows... the past 8 months we have been ttc, i felt like i really didnt want anyone else to know. but now i am contemplating telling my mother . we are pretty close, and i would love to have her for support and i know she would be so excited and she is waiting for it, but at the same time i don't know if she is going to hassle me every month!

so as of right now, just my friend knows... but if anything comes up in conversation with my mom, i think i might tell her,too.

My mom, Dh's mom and my close GF's know.
other than that, only one other couple knows that we regularly hang out with - and since they're going thru the same thing, we all know not to bring it up when a large group is together. (and besides, we trust them anyway )

I always laugh and shrug it off when people mention kids to us.. its none of anyone's business!
And to be honest, seeing how long and frustrating this process is already (we're 10 months of trying now) i'm really really glad that we didn't say anything in the beginning to anyone. It would almost make me feel worse if more people knew that it wasn't 'easy' for us.

My immediate family (my parents, my sister, DH's parents and sisters) know. We told them when we got the BFP but it turned into a chemical pregnancy. They didn't know before that.

But for the past few months that we were TTC my sister, my best friend, one coworker and DH's best friend are the only one's who knew.

When people ask me I just tell them maybe soon. I just try to be vague.

I told my family and friends that I am ttc but if and when I get the BFP I would like to wait untl I am in my second trimester to tell anyone.. We'll see how things go...
