To become a teacher...
Do you need a BA or MA in education? I have my MSW.

You can teach with a BS in Education in order to get your temporary certification. In order to be permanently certified you need an MS.

Thanks. Does the degree have to be in education though?
typically yes, it depends on the certification. if you want to teach high school, many people get a degree in the subject area (i.e. History) and then take the appropriate education classes for certification.
if you want to teach early childhood, elementary, special education, ESL, technology, etc. it is a Masters in Ed. most people with prior degrees like yourself, end up getting the Masters in ed.
