Have I hit a plateau?

I think I hit a plateau on WW.

I started May 9th, and have lost 29 pounds so far.

In the month of September, I only lost 2 lbs. My first weigh in in oct, I lost .6

I dont understand why I've hit a plataeu already..I still have a ways to go.

I've started running 3/4 times a week thinking it would give me a kick start... not so much.

Does anyone have any advise? I'll probably show my tracker to my meeting leader this week to see if he has any words of wisdom...

I am by far an expert on weight loss but if you started running I think you may need to increase your calories.

See I don't really understand that.. if I'm burning more calories, won't that just increase weight loss?

My meeting leader doesn't suggest eating "activity points"... so what else could it be??

Sometimes when you run or do other exercises you build some muscle which shows up on the scale as lbs. Have you tried gauging your weightloss with your clothing? I know my girlfriend does WW and she says she only cares what the number is...so I get that. However my clothing is bigger on me now then when I weighed 5lbs less a few years ago...so you never know.

But CONGRATULATIONS on your weight loss...that is a wonderful accomplishment!!!

THANK YOU!!

I can absolutely tell a difference in my clothes... but I want/need the numbers to come down too. I'm not doing weights yet... I'm only running for like 40 minutes 3/4 times a week... I figure that would be a good calorie burner...

Re: Have I hit a plateau?

How recently have you started running? One WW leader explained to me that if you excercise alot all of a sudden, it could cause your muscles to swell and add weight, which you will then lose again.

I hope that made sense.

I was actually thinking that may be it.. I started about 3 weeks ago... and my meeting leader once said your muscles retain fluid in the beginning... how long does that last? lol
