Moving to IVF
So, I did one IUI this month but my husbands numbers were pretty low. 5mill the first time and 9mill the second time. My husband also has abnormal morphology issues so the doc said our chances of IUI working are low. I asked if we could move to IVF and he agreed that would be a good idea. I am so nervous. I have heard such horror stories, but I feel like I just have to try this. The doctor said at my age the chance of success is around 40% on the month we do the ER and 20% on months that we transfer the FETs. Anyone have any advice? Is this month really going to be as bad as people say it will? I still feel like it is going to take more than one round of IVF to get pregnant. I already have a son that was somehow conceived the old fashioned way, so I know that I can get pregnant and carry a baby, but there is something gnawing at the back of my head telling me that I have some sort of undiscovered issue preventing pregnancy as well.....

Re: Moving to IVF
I know that it all seems overwhelming at first, but you'll get through it!
I think IVF with ICSI is probably a good choice for you.
I don't think IVF is as physically draining as it is emotional. I think that part is much harder.
Hang in there!

Re: Moving to IVF
It took 3 rounds of IVF to get pg with DS. We are currently trying for #2.
IVF is really not as daunting as it sounds. Just take it one day at a time.
Good Luck to you!

Re: Moving to IVF
Believe it or not, the IVF cycle actually goes by VERY quickly. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. I blinked and it was time to do the trigger. I was very, very nervous but I think I was much more nervous than I needed to me. Hope it goes well for you too!

Re: Moving to IVF
It took us a very long time to move onto IVF. What everyone says is true, it goes quickly and is definitely more emotionally draining then anything else. I will admit I was a basket case from being told I was to trigger until the ER....but I survived and everyone I encountered was more then understanding and compassionate about it. Best of luck to you!!
