My IVF journey.. the begining Update 7*FINAL UPDATE*
I was debating doing a journal because I didn't want to jinx myself but I figured that it has worked for everyone else.....
Here I go:
The RE had me on hold until I could get my sugar under control and lose some weight. Well after a few months on medication and losing some weight we decided to just go for it and go back to the RE when I got my last period.
9/14 Sono and blood work came back great and I also got the ok from my Endocrinologist. Started BC pills.
9/23 Back to the RE for another sono and blood work. Everything came back clear so I started 10 units of Lupron. The injections were a piece of cake because I was already injecting insulin. PSA: make sure the sono tech checks the temp of the gel. Mine didn't and she burned my "who-ha". I have never jumped so high in my life.
9/27 My last BC pill. AF showed up with a vengence on 9/30.
10/2 Another sono and blood work. When will it end? I look like an addict with all of these bruses and prick marks from all of the needles. I got the ok to start 2 vials each of Bravelle and Menopur and 5 units of Lupron
10/6 That's right- sono and blood work. Follie check. Sono tech showed me the follies and seemed excited because she saw growth. She told me that I looked like I was on target. Saw the Nurse before I left and she didn't seem as excited. I hope she was having a bad morning because she is normally very friendly and today she seemed off. Anyway, I have 2 more days on the regime and then go back on Thurs. for another check. This has to work for us!!!
10/8 Sono and bloodwork. Sono tech was more then excited with what she saw. Nurse was also very very happy. We are on our way!! I have to do blood work and sono again for the next 3 days. The nurse "thinks" that the ER will be Tuesday. How do i lose 20 lbs by Tuesday? :)
10/11 I had my 4th sono/blood work appt in a row and I got the call!!! I trigger tonight!! WOOHOO!! Er will be Tuesday morning.
10/13 ER was this morning. Everything went great!! They retrieved 11 so now we just wait for the fert. report. I didn't even think to ask the sizes. I do remember asking if I snored. DH did say that he was very impressed with their selection of "material" in the room where he had to.... you know....
I just want to thank everyone here for their support!! I really does mean so much to me!!!
10/14 DH and I kept busy today so I really didn't think about getting the call- so I missed it. They left a message to let me know that we hade 11 mature eggs and 8 fertalized!! I am so excited about that number!! I am also so proud of DH. Part of our problem was with his mobility and motility. Right now we are scheduled on Friday afternoon for a 3 day transfer. They will call me that morning to either confirm the time or let us know that it is being changed to a 5 day on Sunday. In the meantime DH is happy to be giving me my Progesterone in my butt because "he is already a pain in my ***"
10/20 We ended up doing a 5 day transfer on Sunday. I guess it went ok. This was my 1st time going though the whole process. The Dr. and embryologist were very excited how our embies were doing. We had 5 good ones and 2 on the cusp. We had decided to transfer 2 because I can't risk triplets. I am already puls sized and have diabetes so that would have been too much. I stayed in bed pretty much all day Sunday and worked form home on Monday so I could "relax" an extra day. I have to say that my DH is the best and really took care of me. He keeps talking to my belly telling the embies to stick and grow grow grow. I can't wait to be officially pregnant so I can make him a "daddy". I got the call today that 2 embies made it to the freeze. I am very happy about that.
Once again I can't thank the women on this board for all of your support and the education that I got from you is just unbelievable.
10/28 Thank you for your FM's. It is nice to know that there are so many caring women out there
So I had my BETA yesterday and am beyond excited to announce that we are pregnant!!!! I waited to post this because I didn't tell DH until he got home from work last night. We are going to wait a little to tell our famlies just to make sure that everything is ok. If you are friends with me on Facebook please don't write anything about this
Again, thank you for your support and help. I have learned so much on this board. I am not leaving yet because I want to see everyone else pregnant too!!!
11/23 DH and I want for our 7 week sono and got some bad news. We have a sack but no baby. Right now we are waiting for nature to take it's course. We will be back in a few months when it is time to do our FET.
