8 week old - crying for an hour straight?

my dd has been reallly realllly good since she was born, she never cried (im sure this is part of the reason why im posting bc I'm not used to her crying).... anyway.... last night she started crying soooo loud, DH & I didn't know what to do, I mean she was fed, she was burped, she was changed, she didnt have a fever.............. we didnt know what to do.... this went on for about an hour and she finally fell asleep in DH's arms. Could she start being colic?
Is this normal? Do babies just cry for no apparant reason sometimes?
DH & I have been kinda sick, sore throat etc.... I'm thinking maybe she might not be feeling great, I should probably call the DR right?

She is probably just fine - I remember DD was very unpredictable at that age. Sometimes she'd have a great day but more often than not she'd have at least one "witching hour" where she would get hysterical. It hurt my heart to hear her cry so much Chat Icon I remember that running the vacuum worked wonders for her.

DS would do that sometimes and as soon as he went into someone else's arms he would fall right asleep.

Re: 8 week old - crying for an hour straight?

DS is 5 weeks and when he went to the Ped on Friday, he said he is colicy....the doctor said colic is defined as crying at predictable times (my ds cries EVERY night from 9ish for about an hour or so), not being able to soothe them (we try everything and nothing works)

I feel your pain...we have been using gripe water (made by little tummies) and it seems to be helping...we also ordered the colic relief pad (I found it for cheap at learningcurve.com)

DD cried every day for 3 plus hours straight for months...it was not an easy time in my life but it gets alot better...sometimes mylicon helped if it was gas...we would walk her around the house and look at stuff...hang in there...
