does anyone else have a baby that's always hot?
if so - how on earth do you deal with everyone and their mother commenting on what you dress him/her in?????
some backstory - EVERY time my mom sees emma - she tells us she's not warm enough. i told her about the old lady at the mall and she was like - she was right, she should've had a jacket on.
last night - we were visiting my parents and it was roughly 'bedtime' for em and we put her in pj's - not feety - but warm'ish pj's. she fell asleep and dave and i ran to a store...we got back 20 minutes later and she was crying and had woken up pretty much as soon as we left. I take her from my dad and she is still crying/upset. I notice, dur - she's hotter than heck. the back of her neck is on FIRE (that's where we were told to check if a baby is warm/cold). her head is ALWAYS hot - so we can't go by that...
i tell my dad - feel her neck...even he was surprised. I take off the pj's and she's in just her diaper and BLAMMO - new baby! Happy baby, cooing baby....things are great baby.
how on earth do you handle all the comments about how you dress your child - or do NOT dress him/her??????? i'm really getting angry...

my DS is usually warm too - especially when he's in the carseat. I still put a jacket on him.

i can't do that - she screams when she's hot. i'll take her out of the carseat when she has just a onesie on and she's soaked (if it's a long car ride)...LITERALLY soaked.

DS has always been one to overheat, only when he does, he has horrible horrible reflux too! I guess I didn't really notice or care what people said, I just did what was best for him.
I found that when he was that little, during the winter I dressed him in long sleeves (no coat) then put the cover on his carrier and had blankets available if it was really cold outside to put inside his cacoon. It worked great

DD is the SAME way and we get the SAME comments from people. My answer is we are her parents...not you LOL! DD has a ton of heavy fleecy pjs and heavy blankets..etc but everytime she goes to bed with heavy pjs she wakes up within 30 minutes and her hair is like a sweaty afro! LOL She sweats so much that her hair gets humid andthe back of her neck has had a rash from sweating at nite. Lately I have just been putting her in a long sleeved onesie ( no pants she LOVES being bottom naked :)..) and half swaddling her bottom half with a blanket....you are alwys going to get comments from old school people who think they know best....just let it roll off your shoulders. You are obviously a great mom and you know your DD best...just take the advice..smile...and when they turn their backs laugh! LOL
