3rd Trimester ladies with dogs...?
Have you noticed your pup acting different lately? Mine has been an even bigger mush than normal and will not leave me alone. He has also turned into a lap dog and actually layed on my lap last night, head on my belly. This is not his typical behavior. Just coincidence?

They say animals can sense when you are pg.
With my last pg all 4 of our cats used to follow me around. If I laid down on the bed they all tried to smush up next to me. They aren't usually like that.
They're not as mushy this time around, but I think that's because they are afraid of DD torturing them

YES! It only started about a month ago (I'm 31 weeks). She usually is up DH's azz whenever he's around but lately she has been staying with me all the time, following me around and being extra affectionate. I love it and I think it's adorable

Re: 3rd Trimester ladies with dogs...?
This is really common! Dogs can apparently even HEAR the baby's heartbeat and movements inside your belly because their hearing is so much stronger than ours. I have 2 dogs and a cat- both dogs have always been mushy and affectionate anyway, so I really haven't seen any change in them, but my cat has been ALL over me in recent weeks. She sleeps with me every night and is always trying to curl up on top of or right next to my belly. I think it's adorable! Also, ever since I got pregnant, my friend's dog has seemed to notice. She just had a baby in April, so he might be ultra-sensitive to it! But every time I go to her house, he follows me around until I sit down, then sniffs my belly, then backs up and sits right on it like he's protecting my baby or something! It cracks me up! So cute!

OMG Sunday night I was having minor contractions and my dog refused to leave my side while I laid in bed. It was too cute. Since I have been prego he follows me like I am his mom. So cute!!

Re: 3rd Trimester ladies with dogs...?
I think dogs can definitely tell when you are pg. I'll say that I am not a pet person. I like animals, I just don't want to own them and I am timid around them.
With DS, we went camping with friends at 20 weeks pg. One of the couples there brought their dog-we had never met them or their dog. This dog didn't leave my side the entire time we camped. If I sat on a chair, she was right at my feet. If I walked to get something, she followed me. The owners of the dog could not believe how much she 'took' to me, and we figured it was because she knew I was pg.
It was so weird, but so cool at the same time.

Unfortunately my dog is chewing on her leg and really doing a number on it. I am assuming it is because I am pregnant because she follows me every where and when I am not home she goes to town on her leg again. I am at a loss as to what to do.

Re: 3rd Trimester ladies with dogs...?
My dog was all over me last time I was pregnant as well. But the night before I gave birth, he was on top of me the whole day and night, refusing to leave my side. I had no cramping or any other indication that I was going to deliver my DD the next day, and I was 22 days early at that point!! You may notice a shift in your dog's behavior like I did... That may give you a hint that things are about to happen! Here is an excerpt from my Birth Story:
All day long, Leo was acting kind of weird; barking for no reason inside the house, wanting to sit on my lap at the dining room table where I was doing the thank you cards and just being overly snuggly all day. He wouldn’t leave my side, which, considering he was spoiled was not that far of a stretch for him but he was being more attached to me than ever. My husband was working a double shift in Queens. His plan was to work until 11:30pm and sleep at his parents’ house so he would be only minutes from work since he had to be back in at 7am. We live in Suffolk so it made perfect sense. When he called me from my in-laws’ house that night, I told him that Leo was acting really strange and joked that he may ‘know something.’ I told him I loved him and that I would call him at 5:45am to make sure he got up for work.
Leo and I went to bed that night shortly after getting off the phone with my husband. I let him sleep with me in the bed like we used to do before my husband and I started living together and wouldn’t let him sleep in the bed anymore. I figured he was needy all day and since I knew the baby would be here soon, I probably wouldn’t get many chances to snuggle with my dog. How soon she would be here was a shock!
I hope Leo gives me a heads up again this time around!!
